I play clash 18 hrs a day and have spent hundreds of dollars on a game i love.

If players are given the ability to change their names, all that will do is allow the "bad apples" of the game to begin trolling annonymously again. When i see that happen, i will be hanging up my coc hat.

I didn’t even realize the game’s quota of bad apples had been filled. I just assumed more would keep appearing on the scene.

While I agree a straight name change would let trolls through, I doubt we will see a no frills straight name change. But who knows ? Either way I doubt you will even notice a difference and I doubt this is your only issue. Maybe it’s more a case of buyer’s remorse.

Exactly. I think it will just make it complicated since names are very important in the game.

I know - seriously. a level 144 TH10 with maxed troops. 161 million gold grab. Clearly this user has gemmed several thousand dollars. Granted he has 194k donations but that maybe got him 25 levels. Tons of gemming going on.

The amount of gemming plus 18 hours a day - dont worry Super Cell - you have this guy hooked and he is not going anywhere. especially on something so trivial as a name change. You'll get another few thousand from him as he gems his walls next.

I do agree with your concern, I share it even,I agree that a straight name change allowance would be mostly just a troll tool if they did that. I will even say that I have argued heavily against this and lost and am not happy I lost.

But they are doing this. It is our new reality. Being our new reality I see no further point in arguing whether it should be and instead think we should look for how to embrace it. For openers I don't think posturing and threatening is a great strategy. Better to see what they do to keep it from being a big troll tool (that's too obvious a factor for them not to have seen and considered) before making any further judgments. Maybe it will be fine, maybe not. But I don't want to say the sky is falling quite yet while it is still up there.

Agree that this is an issue, but waiting to see how SC handles it.

We keep a "banned" list of troll users not to let into the clan. Definitely a problem if they can change their name to get back in ...

However ...

Something as simple as "500 gems to change your name" keeps this from being abusable by all but the most devoted trolls.

So ... sitting back and waiting to see what the "cost" of the "name change" feature is before worrying too much about it.

I would guess it will cost us gems to be able to update our names. Or maybe we'll only be able to update our names once every so often. I doubt that it'll come without some sort of throttle.
