Archers are the best.

trophy hunting and farming are somewhat mutually exclusive. depending upon what trophy range you are in it may require wizards over archers (i.e. well over 2000). if you are below 2000 archers all the way since they build infinitely faster than wizards.
I would say to use both of them! Archers when you plan to be online for a while, train wizards when you are going to be offline!
If your archers are a higher lvl go with them, if they are the same lvl go with archers. If you have healers, use wizards and 1 or 2 healers. That's what works the best for me.
Archers are more versatile
