A few ideas for clans
I've had a couple of ideas to help clans operate better, and I've finally decided to post these ideas here. Please let me know what you think, all feedback is appreciated.
Reseting preferences:
This idea is just what it sounds like. It would be available to the leader only, and would be activated using a button on the clan screen. Basically, the leader would use this to put everyone's was preference to red.
What are the advantages of this?
Weeding out inactive players: in larger clans, it is often hard for leaders and cos to know who is inactive, and who to put in war. If the clan is chatty, it's hard to communicate who is inactive. To solve this, the leader would reset the preferences, and then mail would be sent out for people to fix their preference. Then, only the active people would have green preferences.
Shouldn't we just kick the inactives? In most cases, yes, unless the person is temporarily inactive. Then clans can keep their members and only have active players in war
Personalized invites:
Again, pretty self explanatory. The ability to send a message when you invite someone.
ADVANTAGES :
Tell people why your clan is good
Say someone gets kicked by a rogue Co, tell them what happened
To counter the possible spamming, the ability to ban people from inviting you would be introduced. Other constraining methods could also be used, like one invite to a person per clan, invite cool down, etc.
Custom ranks :
My last idea may not be the best, but it's the ability to assign certain members certain permissions. It would use the base elder and cos as templates, and the leader could edit them to remove or add permissions like sending mail, promoting, kicking, starting war, etc.
This would help leaders control the clan. Maybe they want someone to be able to start war, but can't trust them as Co because they will kick people. You could see your permissions in your profile page.
That's all I have right now, please let me know what you think.
