Here it comes again😱. Reported.
They're offering whole family problem solutions now...hmmm..... Wonder if they can do anything for the "stroppy teenager syndrome" that invades my house from time to time?
If you read my post here it will explain again why it's best if everyone reporting does so with the first thread. To repeat...if everyone reports a diff spam thread from the same spammer, the mods gets a separate report for each, which they have to spend time processing...duplicate work and much, much more time spent. This extra time that the mods are unnecessarily working on duplicates allows other spammers to continue making more of their own posts as well as new spammers getting through.
However, if everyone reports the SAME first post from the spammer, the mods get ONE report with many forum member signatures...only one report to process. It saves duplication, work, and most importantly, time. That time saved allows the mods to more quickly move to stop the spammer cold in mid-post, move onto the next spammer to stop them cold, and so on. This seriously cuts back on how many spams end up getting posted and the information quickly added to the filters, preventing new ones waiting their turn at the door from getting through. The mods are then free to move onto other forum dilemmas requiring quick attention as well as attend to other forum responsibilities in a more timely manner.
Rest assured that if you made a report, it went through. Once a mod reaches that report, all spam will be removed almost instantaneously. Also remember that the mods are volunteers with jobs and families. They are not able to be online 24/7. If spam remains up after being reported, it's because there is no one yet online to see those reports or they may be preoccupied handling a reported forum matter that is more immediately vital than spam. Rest assured that the very first mod to log in and be able will blast those bad boys into oblivion.
Again, please follow the instructions here to report spam in the manner to ensure the most expedient removal.
This makes a lot of sense. Scrolling down to the bottom of the list to find the first thread seemed inefficient from my perspective. But your explanation gives me clear insight on your end as one of the people who has to process those reports.
Thanks for all your work dealing with this mess. You might not be paid but you are appreciated.
New attack reported. (I think - wish I had a crystal ball so I could be sure).
Thanks, Oldman, for asking for clarification from Cricks. I've been carefully reporting the wrong "first" post--the most recent as opposed to the true "first" one. Duh.:p I had momentarily wondered what would happen if the spammer posted something more recent than the one I reported. The penny still didn't drop. :p:p
I'll be more helpful beginning tonight!!
Another spam attack:smirk:. It has been reported.
It's too early for this. Reported!
Yikes! Reported this round of spam.
Reported new spam by dgdgfd. I note there are three different bot personalities spamming us at once now. How can anyone with multiple personality disorder solve anyone's love problems?
Latest batch reported.
bump - mods please remove all the spam
Aaarrrrgggghhh - third time today.
Reported.
Maybe we should buy a spell to ward off back magic experts?
lookin for love in all the wrong places. Guess I shoulda called this guy.....and reported.
I reported spam a few minutes after Tiaxotrax noted reporting some, and now, an entire new set is here! Reported them, too!
I was on when today's crop started so I could see that it was the first one. But they were so fast I doubt the mods even got my message before the board was full.
I wonder if it's possible to put in some sort of filter as in maximum number of new posts in a thread in a certain amount of time. I'm farily sure at least of all of us that it's never a requirement to start more than 3 three new threads in under 5 minutes. maybe if we bottleneck them enough they will go to an easier target.
Or we get a ddos attack from multiple sources as they attempt to overwhelm the server. why does everyone have to be more devious than me?
Reported spam again
Newest batch reported.
So many spams.
Mods, do your job now! lol
More,,,reported

Wow! Gone! Thanks Mods!
FYI. The purpose of this thread is NOT to alert the mods to the spam. We do that by reporting it with the method laid out in a post made earlier. It remains open for our use to commiserate about the spammers, to thumb our noses at them and to have a laugh about them, as well as informing each other that we reported it already. We also use it to thanks the mods for their service and remind them that we are glad they are on our side. Just thought you'd like to know.
Tigg
But Ched, sometimes we need to know when the spam has been reported so that IF we wish to take advantage of some of that black magic, we will need to rush to the appropriate thread and get the info needed before it's gone! :p
Fresh wave reported.
Sorry about that folks, should be fine now, pm me if you see any more on the HD side in the next few minutes
Tonite's latest reported.
Some people are also deliberately posting threads in the looking for a nh section to advertise their hoods. I think those threads should be removed or moved as well. It is getting out of control for the past few weeks and i am not even talking about people who mistakenly do it, but those who do it on purpose to increase exposure. It is not different than spam to me.
Someone - either Tinkerbell or Cricks, said if people are posting in the wrong thread, then report them and ask for the thread to be moved to the correct place. Have at 'Em, Madeleine.
New lot reported.
I did. Daaays ago, multiple times. The threads are still there. Talking to thread starters doesn't work either, they just encourage each other by posting in the wrong section deliberately and they stand proud of what they are doing. I really respect the volunteer work the mods do, but we all need to accept the fact that they are understaffed and we need some new mods to help them out.
I agree the current team mods is severely undermanned. They can't remove the spam threads fast enough because there are too many spammers attacking the forum.
Supercell may be a startup but it has the resources to hire spambusters to monitor the forums and remove spam attacks as quickly as they pop up. Initially, there would be 3 spambusters who will work an 8 hour shift from different time zones so in any 24 hour period, a spambuster would monitor the forum.
If Supercell doesn't have the budget to hire the spambusters, then I suggest SC takes the monies from its advertising and public relations budgets. SC doesn't need to run a commercial on TV every year during the Superbowl.
Latest batch reported.
Latest spambot attack which appeared about 23 mins ago was reported.
Do we really need to announce we've reported them? More than one person reporting them won't hurt.
No one gets a gold star for reporting them?
Seems a waste of a thread and a bit well spam to keep reporting that they've been reported? In the end it's the equivalent of posting 'Just posted a new thread in general called....' Or 'Just replied in ... Thread'.
Just sayin'
it doesn't hurt for 3-10 people to report it but at the same time if all 300 members viewing at one time decided to report each thread then that does actually spam the mods a wee bit. and that does get to be a bit obsessive. also it gives the community a sense of fighting back it's not much but it feels pretty.
It seems what you and SC are doing is working. I personally have not seen any spam for the past few days. Well done!
Can someone please look at the nh section? People keep posting at the wrong forums. Other threads where fierce discussions take place or ruled out requests are being discussed seem to have been deleted by mods but not these.
47. Spam threads. Is that an all time high total? Out. Of. Control!!!!
I spoke too soon. Current lot reported.
Are all moderators in same time zone or why are those spam threads still up after 6 - 7 hours after posting? :(
(Just asking, not judging, I know they work here for free. :). )
In the "NH Discussion section," there're some random spam threads. I think I reported them using the little triangle-thingy, but a week's gone by, they're still there.
edit: thanks for removing the ones I posted, mods. :)
Sadly, there's new spam from the tin now in the same section. But I suppose that's the cycle of spam.
Baba-ji has moved to the New People's forum. More than 2 pages and the oldest has been there for 12 hours. I've reported the earliest thread twice.:p
Well, now it seems they are just spamming threads instead of starting new ones. At least 4 posts in 5 minutes on the trading thread. Reported it already.
Great. Now we can't even push them down the page any more.
Reported the latest spam bot...Boom Beach forum was hit before we were.
Last night I reported our "Black Magic" friend. First sighting for me in a long time. However, I've been spotting threads that are posted in weird places like Neighborhood Discussion and, pretty regularly now, Creativity. Here's a screenshot of the current first page in Creativity. There are 3 spam threads in the top 5. The oldest one has been there 5 days.
Here's the link to the best way to report spam.

One of the things the thread says is not to start threads like this one or it might result in an infraction. However, I felt that these current spammers are using a different "model" that we need to all recognize and report.
Here's my problem:
- They all have different names as the "member"
- The time limit between posts means that I go do something else and then I can't remember which ones I've reported previously
- I reported one that had been there a number of hours and I was apparently the only person who had even viewed the thread, so I don't think it had been reported

There are two spam threads in the neighborhood discussion that i reported about three days ago. Unfortunately i still see them there.
