I'd usually screenshot my opponent's base, and then I transfer the picture to my PC. There, I'll use paint and try to sketch/draw out my attack plan. This'll help me better at calculating my attack procedures and easily adapt to a base design I'd attack.
I use skitch and do it all on my phone/tablet.

I've been the highest member/most experienced attacker in my clan for quite a while, so haven't really asked much advice. I usually plan things out in my head, try to guess trap locations and work out cc luring and heroes etc, been pretty successful.
In war plan I plan the attack on my head, thinking step by step what I'm going to do. Then I go to attack, unexpected stuff happens, plan fails miserably, two stars. :straightface:
In normal matchmaking I have 30 seconds to: Decide to attack or not, figure out attack plan, how to lure, etc. So I mostly just go with my gut feeling, attack goes beautifully and get 3 stars on a seemingly tough base.
Yeah, I don't get CoC at times. XD

X M O D games. Lets you do a sandbox attack by scouting and see their traps. You can practice this over and over
I scout, and then calculate the plan in my head.

I take a screenshot of the base and use the app skitch to draw out my plan on it. This makes it more clearer for me and more visual, it is also a great tool for seeing any flaws in the plan prior to the attack.
Earlier I thought out my plan in my head, but that was more inconsistent and i forgot about steps occasionally.
