Thanks for your kind words shane. The key factor here that doesn't get much publicity in these "%&*#$ HOPPERS!" threads is that almost everybody who has ever played clash could have been classified as a hopper at one point. The tools available for finding a suitable clan are laughable by any modern software standard. Sure there are a few people who go out of their way to be a nuisance, but putting in a movement restriction of any kind will impact almost every player in a negative way and only serve to make the parasitic ones more disruptive.
Back to my story for a moment, after bouncing around for a while one of my son's friends created a clan that I joined with my son. 2nd grade leadership was all it took to drive us both away and that was a clan full of people we knew! Once we did find a clan we fit in we stayed for a couple months until they added a "all players will trophy push" schedule. We were not in a good position to push trophies on the week they scheduled so we ended up out of that one. Joined another series of clans before starting our own. Now I leave my own clan fairly regularly and bounce between 4-6 clans just to visit friends, some of which are in different clans than the last time I dropped in to donate troops they don't have access to.
Many people here have similar stories, especially in their first six months or so of clashing. The idea that trying to hopefully label/punish/hinder a small percentage of players can be done without certainly punishing most players is preposterous. I have played other games where there is a 24 hour wait to join a new clan/guild/team and in those games it fit. It fit ONLY because you could narrow down your search to likely matches. If CoC had a 24 hour before you could join a new clan when I started I would have either quit the game or simply stayed solo.
Another thing to consider before a delayed can be considered is feeder/sister/helper clans. There would need to be a way to switch directly between them or you would crush the most helpful clans and players in the CoC community. I am getting off topic though. Trying to target malicious hoppers is a bad idea every time it is suggested. Just smile as you apply your boot to the south facing end of each north bound mule you come across and clash on.
