The catapult would be a defensive structure unlocked at town hall 9,10, or 11. You would only be able to have 2 of them. It would launch a bomb into the air dealing splash damage. It would have a low fire rate, but high damage per shot similar to the mortar.
Because in real life a carapult is long, it should be 3x4 insets of 3x3 but that is not definite. This would add a whole new aspect of stratagey to base design and attacks. Also if you haven't noticed all the things in clash of clans follow a semi mideval theme and this would go along to that.

They're using air attacks because the bases are mostly ground proof.. This idea is not needed. LavaLoon ISNT op.. its just powerful in the right hands.
