Advice for moving to TH9 and where to upgrade.

I'm a fully maxed TH8, I have about 50 walls to go before I move to TH9, but I'm looking for some advice and recommendations from people who have moved to TH9.

I have a really strong base, immune to dragon attacks, but not to much ground attacks, although in the past I've only been 3 starred by max TH9s so I'm happy with it. I don't want to change the design as it works really well, so I was thinking to upgrade all my current defences to max levels before getting new defences in.

What are peoples thoughts on this? Is it worth me maxing my current defences at TH9 to getting all the new defences that I can and upgrading them all this way?

Anyone have any experience and preferences? Pros and cons for both approaches?

If you tend to war a lot and care about your clan, upgrade your offenses before your defenses. If you're sitting there with even max'd defenses - the same TH or higher will come and annihilate you. So basically, you'll get destroyed either way. Except, if you choose to upgrade defenses first, then you won't have the troops to 3 star your opponent. You'll also be matched up higer on the clan war ranking. (More difficult opponents) If you upgrade offenses first, you have have a weaker base, but that means you'll be matched up with a slightly less intimidation on you and you will have the offenses to attack your matchup or higher! (:

If you're prepared for long and boring farming all day everyday, then just upgrade farming troops and then upgrade defenses.

Hi, I'm a maxed TH9 (except for heroes and half lavas). I think you can leave your base like this, don't add any new defense and walls, as soon as you upgrade to TH9 you have some important points you should follow

-get your archer queen
-upgrade your army camps
-upgrade your lab
-upgrade your spell factory

Work on this four points, AQ will add more power to your raids, get them sweet 20 more troops which is pretty important. After this work on your lab and up barch and giants (Giants will get a great boost at level 6), last of these points is your spell factory which allows you to use 1 more spell including the jump spell which I really like to bring in my arsenal just in case.

After you did this points you can start focusing on buildings. In my opinion the order is

-build x-bows and upgrade them to 3 as soon as you can
-build all the new defenses and level them with your old ones
-build your walls and upgrade them to skulls at least

Once you did this you can work on defenses to max them to TH9 standard, now it's on you, you can decide of leaving 1 idle builder to upgrade walls or leave walls to the end of TH9. Another thing you should work on it's heroes, mainly the AQ, I would suggest you to level her to the BK, and then if you are able to you can upgrade them together or you can do BK to 15 then AQ to 15 then BK to 20 and so on.

This is what I did with each builder:

1. Get AQ and fasttracked her to 5 over the next week
2. Started lab, did spell factory after it finished
3. New defences
4. Army camps
5. Xbow, then 2nd xbow

If you're keen on war, you're best off listening to someone else :p

I have 5 builders when i hit th9
- Builder 1 spell factory
- builder 2 lab
- builder 3 xbow
- builder 4 xbow
- builder 5 aq then gets all new stuff

You dont have to change base the moment you hit th9, it will leave few defenseless spot here and there

Stick to your th8 base, while upgrading new building non stop to at least th7 level (and maybe when your xbow construction finish) then start changing base for th9
i do wizard tower first, followed by air defense, arch tower, then storage
Having 4 storage really benefits you from saving resources

after lab and spell factory is done, go upgrade your army camp ASAP
leave de drill, de storage, dark rax for later

If you have all buildings in th8 level (including wall for me), you can
- start constructing xbow to lv 3, then upgrading defense to th9 level
- upgrade xbow to lv 2, then work on other defenses, and finally upgrade the xbow to lv 3
having lv 1 xbow is too weak it couldnt do anything significant to lv6 giants, it scares th9 premmies though

I choose to construct xbow to lv 3 first. The black xbows scare people. A lot

Also take your time farming as a new th9. You cant hit th7 (even th7 with full collectors only net you with 130k gold/elixir), you will have a hard time to raid th8 with max defenses as you only have th8 troops (+ hopefully you get your aq right after upgrading to th9)
220 army camp space > lv 6 giants for me
i farm at gold 3 first, then i start climbing to gold 2

I have a warring clan, we war all the time. Two guys in our clan just went to TH9 in the past couple of weeks and got all new defences and are having a hard time in war now. I think I'll get my offence sorted first, but since this is using Elixir mainly with the gold, what is preferential to do?

Was thinking my ADs as people still try to MassDrag me. Thoughts?

I would dump all my gold into walls actually, and yea building new defenses ranks you higher in war so you gonna face stronger opponents. Try to do offense first, I think my previous post can help you, but then again it's on you to choose what ya gonna do. Good luck

Yeah the AQ will be one of the first things, along with camps, spells, dark barracks and lab.

I think I have about a week before I can start the upgrade. Have about 40 walls to and Minions.

-MOST IMPORTANT-
The Queen and her leveling.
Spell Factory & Laboratory.
Army Camps.
3rd & 4th Air Seeker.
4th Giant Bomb
Clan Castle.
Dark Barracks to lv6.

-IMPORTANT-
Xbows.
Dark Elixer Drills to lv6.
Wizard Towers.
Air Defense.
Teslas.

-MILD IMPORTANCE-
MR. King leveling.
Archer Towers
Storages.
Mortars.
Cannons.

Then anything else. Walls should be a resource dump throughout whenever.

And this list is in a high to low order of my preference.

I'm not a town hall 9, but as an 8 I've been thinking very intensely about my upgrade. With 6,000,000 gold and elixir and 80,000 dark elixir — assuming max storages — I'd immediately get my xbows and two army camps. Buy Archer queen and upgrade her to level 2. The next day my archer Queen lvl 2 will be finished. By then you should have farmed 800,000 elixir. Upgrade your third camp. At the end of the week, you'll have 3/4 army camps maxed and two xbows. Considering how long those upgrades were, you'd have maxed storages again. Upgrade an xbow immediately along with an army camp. You will have a builder open for your lab. Use the last builder to build the new buildings. By the end of the second week, you upgrade your second xbow to lvl 2.

In brief: xbows are the only things that differentiate from th8 defense-wise. Upgrade them fast. Secondly, the camps will give you so much more firepower;upgrade those also.

Lab upgrades: since you'll be high up in war because of the xbows and queen upgrade loons first. After loons, upgrade barch, then giants

Unlock hounds ASAP.

Just gone to TH9 and these are the things I've gone for so far:

• Archer Queen (will work on levelling her to 5 this week)
• Spell Factory to level 4
• Laboratory to level 7
• 2 x Seeking Air Mine
• 1 x Giant Bomb

The only issue I currently have is fitting in my AQ to my war base as it is pretty cramped already.

Going to spend my gold on possibly upgrading my Air Defences to level 7 — unless anyone has a better idea for the gold?
