I'm curious on what people's thoughts are on upgrading to TH9 without having max level barracks, dark barracks, mines, and collectors? Did you wait and max them all at TH8 and regret it or do you think it paid off. For those that didn't wait do you wish you had waited and upgraded them first?
I just began my TH9 upgrade. I maxed everything except teslas (level 4->5), ads, barracks and collectors.
I really don't think it's necessary to upgrade barracks or collectors fully. Although collector money does add up in the long run, farming money adds up much much more, making collector money almost insignificant. Barracks shouldn't be upgraded necessarily unless you trophy farm and use drags/pekkas regularly.

Certainly saves me the worries of them not being done.
And at days where i'm super busy, always nice to return to my base and be warmly rewarded by my high level collectors:o
Although short upgrades helps in th9, yeah, I'm not gonna stress over that too much, just enjoy the game.
At most just leave a builder free for walls, no issue.

Yep, I had maxxed barrakcs, mines/collecters and I don't regret it at all. It's very nice to have those things out of the way just so you don't have to fool with them anymore.
I could have started TH 9 2 weeks ago as my defence is fully upgraded but chose to wait and do just this., I used this logic; I raid 3-4 hours a day. My mines make loot 24 hours a day so there are 20 hours I could be making extra loot to put towards those insanely expensive lvl 9 walls. I believe lvl 11 mines and pumps make almost 500k per day.
So, if your maxed mines bring in an extra 250k per day than you had before then that is 7.5 mil extra each month... about as you do lose some on raids. That is 7 lvl 9 walls extra each month yo didn't have to raid for.
Even if net profit is 6 mil, not too shabby at all.

Took forever but it pays of I think.
People dont think much about it but level 11 collectors makes twice the amount from a level 7!
and you get 432.000 each, without even lifting a finger. EVERY day.
Even if you are a great raider and make 1mio pr. hour for four hours that is still 10% extra.
Well if I am not online much due to some reason at least I am benefiting the community. Plus it means you can upgrade a few walls to level 6 or level 7. And I like being able to complete my army camp with one go in the barracks and not refill them while keeping the time the same for all by a margin of a minute as my barracks training a healer will have free space but you have to consider the time, and don't say well you must have a nooby army as I have 200 at TH7, the max. Currently all barracks level 8, soon to be level nine, and most collectors/mines level 10, some upgrading to level 11, some at level 11, I like them being high as I feel if I can't go on for some time at least I know I have enough gold/elxir to do an upgrade or nearly enough for an upgrade as soon as I go on if I have a spare builders hut not building.
the thing is, if you max collectors and barracks, you won't have short upgrades for th9, which is, in my opinion, very important for wall upgrading. Long upgrades (5 days+) means you can only upgrade walls once every few days, which means it will take forever to max level 9 walls
I'll probably just force myself to be patient and upgrade them all. Still on the fence about dark barracks as I would like the option of making dragon/peeka armies overnight for revenge fun but don't see myself using dark elixir troops for a long time...
I'm a TH7 with a level 2 dark barracks, and i don't even use DE troops. I just like to have absolutely everything on it's max level...

It depends on your walls. If you still have work to do on walls it's best to just stay and max everything. If your walls are all finished, it's better to move on to TH9 for another gold sink, staying and finishing collectors/barracks isn't worth it if gold storages are constantly capped.
I'm going to stay and max everything at TH8. I would love to have the two xbows however I would prefer to farm on a better lot penalty than TH9.
It takes another two weeks or so and it's all done. Better to wait in my opinion.
with mines and barracks the route i took was to, upgrade mines and collectors during a trophy push (as this is a good time to not upgrade any defenses) and then when i take long vacations or during the week and i am not going to be raiding a lot i upgrade my barracks. I look at these buildings more as exp vaults rather than anything of actual gain. it was very nice to get my pumps out of the way but i still have a couple barracks to upgrade to pekkas but no big deal.
