Few times i do it is because the townhall snipers get greedy. They try and snipe my collectors after. Seriously im giving you a free win which gives a good loot bonus, do you really want to set off my traps to take a few more thousand gold? If so, ill revenge. If they dont do that i wont ever try and revenge them back
I am a TH9 in M3. My normal army is balloonion. The M3 bonus is 100k/100k/500. If I see an exposed TH, I always go for it. Loot bonus is too good not to. Drop a minion, follow with heroes if clear. Unless they have awesome loot, I leave and keep looking for another target. I'd rather have two loot bonuses plus decent loot than 1 bonus and loot.
If the TH is trapped, it will mean waiting for troops to rebuild to take it. So I might as well go for the core instead. I've only lost 1 minion to the trap, so I should be able to hit the core easily with the Teslas out.
i did this a few times today with my max teslas, a few dgbs and 2 skelly traps.
it was fun but they usually ended up getting the th anyway even if it took their whole army and the rearm cost was irritating

Not sure why you guys are dropping your queen straight up. I'll always drop an archer to test the waters first.

I don't worry about these at all. Attacking with loonion, 1 minion will detect the trap, then 8 loons will take out the trap easily, another minion or a hero can finish the job. Yes it makes we wait the extra time to make one loon (one is already waiting usually) but it's still very profitable in masters.
If someone has the TH out even with 300-300 in storages I will usually just take the TH whether its trapped or not. Might as well save the real army for a base that has loot with TH in and get an extra bonus.
If they trap or tesla an exposed TH, I zap them every time.

There are a lot of low-levels with low level troops that stay online for hours and hours looking for snipes. Many of them fall for these traps and the defender gets a win.
