Why people put teslas near the outside TH?

Whenever I get screwed by one of these morons, I always punish them by going for their loot, when all i really wanted was to get the TH for the loot bonus. Are you happy now?! Thanks for the 300k gold and elixir and 3k dark.

The reason is simple it is one of the most effective ways to prevent a full out attack on my base! This doesn't really worry me though as raids like this are extremely rare and i can probably count on the fingers of one hand the number of players who have done this to me in the last 3-4 months. Also zapping my DE isn't something that particularly works me up as this tends to be a relatively small loss compared to the amount i was losing previously when players went for my untrapped TH and then proceeded to core me anyway!

if someone wanted to fully attack you for your loot, why would it make any difference to them where your TH was? I think sometimes what will happen is people who are going to take a swing at you will attack your TH first to ensure the victory, either for loot bonus or trophies. I don't see how having your TH on the outside is going to encourage people to engage your base more? I never have this problem.

I think people miss the point of exposing their TH. If someone has the troops to take your resources they will (regardless of TH inside or out). The point of the exposed TH is to give this opportunity to players who come in without the army (think lower level THs) to take your resources.

It's happened to me two times i can think of where a lower player attacked me but didn't have the troops to actually take my TH and i ended up with a win. Then with regard to the second part of your question neither of these was followed by a full blown raid i was sniped both times after this.

The honest truth is that i lose 99% of the time with my trapped TH! As i said before i am not doing it to troll or to win defences i am doing it because it protects my resources. My trapping consists of my 4 teslas around my TH plus my skellie traps and that is it no bombs or air mines as i do not want the cost of rearming them.

My point is that the majority of players who attack my base carry a full army (usually giant based combos or barch but occasionally loon or hog based strategies as well) in the past they would drop 4 archers on my TH then full out raid my base. Now instead of this the majority of players drop 1/3 - 1/2 their army to destroy my TH at which point they probably do not feel they have enough troops left to have a realistic chance of hitting my core.

Yes you are absolutely right about that but my own personal experience is that this is much less likely to happen than if you have TH untrapped.

I already said that this has happened to me maybe 4-5 times in the 4-5 months i have been doing this but before when my TH was untrapped probably half my replays where my TH was sniped the player went on to full attack me

i have been farming with my town hall on the outside for the majority of my coc career and i would say about 90% of attacks on my base are just for TH. And since I've gone to TH 10 its been even less than that. Maybe you are in a very high league or your defenses are not upgraded enough, so it seems like your base is an easy target for them or something. But hey, if thats what works for you than go for it. If I run into your base though, just know that I attacked you full on because I was ♥♥♥♥♥♥ that you trapped your TH.

Sounds fair to me like i said i don't mind the occasional player who catches me out and spanks me in the core because my teslas are MIA. For me it is all about the percentages and for me the percentage of loot i lose with TH trapped is less than the percentage of loot i was losing with TH untrapped.

In terms of my league i tend to farm from gold 3 up to crystal 1 or 2 and i am an almost maxed defence TH9 with about 70 legos and the rest skulls.

Prety sure the attacker having a lvl 15 AQ would have no problems taking out the th still.
