New dark troop: Fire Mage (inferno tower offense)
This would be a unit similar to an inferno tower for defense. The Mage shoots a stream of fire at the nearest building but the stream also ricochets to the next 3-4 closes buildings or units. The original stream would work like a single target inferno, it's dps increases over time. The ricochets would have reduced damage from the original and would not increase in dps.
Troop size: 20
Hp: 80
Damage (initial): 20 per second
Damage (ricochet): 10 per second
Range (initial): 5 tiles
Range (ricochet): 3 tiles
Benefit
Essentially this is a splash damage unit that turns the power of an inferno tower into an offensive weapon. It has lower health much like a wizard so it must be protected however it's housing space should be high enough and dps low enough to make it a great unit for support in an attack but weak enough to prevent it being over powerful. It's benefit comes in weakening a mass of 3-4 buildings at once or support in taking down enemy cc troops. Also with its increase initial stream it's great for taking out heroes so long as it's within range and not the target of the hero as the increase in dps would be too slow and hp too low to last going one on one.
To distinguish it from the witch (cuz I know they'll be a few...)
The witch raises skeletons and is essentially made to distract with a constant bombardment of skeletons in which defenses and cc target them and not her. The Mage is different in that he'll have to be protected at all times because he does not distract units but shoots fire. He's also more powerful than the witch with his splashish style attack (initial and ricochet) and the fact his initial attack has the potential to take down powerful troops/heroes/defenses if used correctly.
I'm not gunna put any fancy names to a potential attack. I'll let you all do that. The benefits section should give hints at its utility.
