Am I Ready For Town Hall 9?

I have been at town hall 8 for quite a while now, and I think I might be ready for town hall 9 (or at least close to ready). Here's what I've got so far:

All in all, after all of my current upgrades are done, I have to upgrade one archer tower, and my teslas. My traps also need some upgrading, but I will do that at the end. I don't think that I will upgrade my mines and pumps so I can have a cheap upgrade to keep the builders busy between the expensive town hall 9 upgrades.

What does everyone think?

Get your BK to 10. He's necessary for taking on other TH9's in war and for the first while you'll be pouring all of your DE into your AQ. Get your pekkas to 3. GoWi*** is one of your strongest attacks in early TH9 and you'll be spending all of your elixir on camps, spell factory, lab, dark barracks, drills, loons to 6, etc.

Max your Teslas, they are one of your best defences. Get your Giant bombs to 3. Personally I hate walls but I did 40 to level 8 and the rest level 7. 40 walls covers pretty much any size of core you want and it's important to have that core strong for when heroes or golems are pounding on it.

I also got my golems to level 2 but now.. I don't recommend it. It was such a pain to save up (mostly a pain to keep) that much DE as a TH8, it's much easier to get DE at th9.

You aren't ready because things like healspell has to be maxed.
You have to upgrade every defence to max.
The only thing I can say to you is: Be maxed before you go to the next TH.

Do some more skulls, your teslas to 6, BK to 10 and your rax and then you should be good to go :)

As long as splash defense and your farming troops are max and you have some skull walls, you are ready.

BK to lvl 10, do some more walls and upgrade those teslas.

Look for SinofDusk, UcsfTeeth and Morgauths guide. You are over qualified for th9. I hope players dont scare you into staying at th8 for no good reason. Your farm troops are ready. Go up and use 220 troops, queen and lvl 6 barch with is way better. Gl (;

Max defenses, pekka and healing spell. You can leave walls to th9.

Queen for level 1 ... I can't recall the DE cost, but until she hits level 5 she's minimal against anything but mid TH8s
Level 6 barch is 6 million for archers, 4.5 for barbs, 6 million for giants. x bows are 3 mil and another 5 to level 2 ( level 1 x bow is weak). Apiece. Unless you have your walls to skulls and every defense maxd, you'll be levelled by a decent 8. So on top of getting the loot to.upgrade new stuff, upgrade to TH9 levels after that, you'll be playing catchup with defenses bringing to TH8 levels.

Or yawn, bite the bullet, be bored for a few weeks, and get prepared.

Your a lot farther than I was when I jumped to TH9. lvl6 barch can really rip up crystal league so it's definitely worth the jump if you don't mind focusing on offense and walls for a while. The walls at TH9 are the only thing that keeps barch and Gibarch away.

Why would you need to farm maxed TH8 with new TH9 offense? Of course you wait till you have maxed TH9 offense before you faceroll those puny TH8s who foolishly max.

Yes, the first two weeks of TH9 would be tough, because your upgrades are like this: CC (5mil), Camps (9mil), lab (2mil), SF (2mil), first lab upgrade (6mil), D.rax (3mil), Drill*2 (6mil)
Total of 5mil gold and 28mil elixir. So you can just dump the 23mil gold difference into skulls, voila, 46 walls + TH9 offenses half done.

After the first month of TH9, you'll be mostly finished with offensive upgrades, you start doing those defenses. Then, you can dump excess elixir to do legos. You'll still have excess gold because you're playing "catch up", those cheap defenses allow to have excess gold to do walls.

And no, you will rarely get levelled during TH9, two reasons: first, you dump almost all excess loot into walls, making you unfarmable; second, your base with TH9 amount of defenses will be harder to hit than a completely maxed, unlurable cc, anti-giant TH8 base, that's in my experience of farming TH8 and TH9s

Maxing TH8 only has the short term benefit of being stronger on day one of moving up. But since I moved to TH9 a month before you, you'll actually be playing catch up to my offensive and hero strength.

You're more than ready. Just upgrade your pekkas while your TH is upgrading. You can leave a builder open for walls or just use them all to finish up your remaining defenses.
You shouldn't worry to much about your BK because farming DE is much easier as a TH9.
Time everything to finish once your TH finishes.
Try to have filled storages: gold/elixer/DE right before your TH finishes and look up a guide on what to upgrade once you hit TH9.

*You will definitely get smashed on by TH9s/10s but the loot is so damn good at 9 once you get your camp upgrades/farming troops it won't even matter.

EDIT: I forgot, what the hell is wrong with me. Just dump all your loot and nobody will attack you ♥♥♥♥

Max your BK so you can start working on AQ as soon as you get to TH9, try to max your skull walls as Legos and lavas at TH9 will require a big effort so you don't wanna do skulls at TH9 too, if you do war upgrade your PEKKA too as you probably gonna use gowipe in TH9. Best of luck

Jump into th9 asap, no point in remaining there, so hard to protect loot and more times you will have spare elixir for days. I remember as a th8 I had 6m elixir 24/7 with nothing to spend it on. You will like th9 it's a lot more fun.

Sorry for bringing back an old post, but since I just hit that upgrade button on that town hall, I wanted to ask you for an opinion about what I should upgrade. I thought that your advice for focusing on offense is really smart, but I wanted to ask what 5 buildings I should upgrade first when the town hall finally finishes upgrading, and a general plan of what to upgrade next. What elixir troop do you recommend upgrading first? And, when should I build the X-Bows and other TH9 defenses?

This should be for anyone who moves to TH9:
First 5 would be Lab, SF, CC, AQ, new buildings/camps

Then do camps and DB (if you war) or Drills (if you farm). After camps, do 1 DB and 1 drill (or better both drills until maxed). If you don't war, plop xbows instead of DB.

If you war, depending on how rushed you are, you can put your new AD after 1-3 weeks in TH9 to deter other TH8s. If you don't war, just stick 1 builder on defense, 3 on elixir stuff, 1 on hero (or 0 on defense and do walls). After you finish all your elixir buildings, do collectors then start on defenses. Try to keep at least 1 hero upgrading at all times.

For lab, first upgrade I'll recommend would be :
(Farming) Giants/Barbs > Barbs/Arch > Minions to 5 > any
(War) Loons > Hogs/Farming troop > Hounds > Farming troop/hogs > Golem 4 > Witch 2

Thank you so much. This will help me through town hall 9. I don't war, so I'll upgrade the elixir things, and wait on DB. I may have some trouble getting enough DE to upgrade one hero at all times. What's a good way to farm DE, while still getting gold and elixir?

EDIT: You also said that all new TH9's should place new buildings first thing. Which buildings should I place?

if defences are all maxed out then i say yes, dont worry about walls, they dont do much past level 8 other than provide a fear factor, jump spells and loons kinda make them redundant.

other than that ur golden, and you can upgrade walls while your th is upgrading, gotta use that gold somewhere right
