I have made the suggestion before that it either needs to be removed entirely, or possibly changed to give players a target range. We're constantly having to explain to new members that they need to ignore the recommended target, and that just because it was recommended doesn't mean that attacking that target is the best overall strategy for the clan to maximize the total number of stars.
Recommended target should be removed. It is about as useful as the search function on this forum.
That would be insulting the forum search function. :smirk: No, really! It is! I can actually use the search feature. The target thing, no; totally unhelpful. Captain Obvious could do better at recommending targets.
Simplest idea would be just to give the Leader and/or Co-Leader(s) access to the thing, with default setting of same number base for each member. Attacking by rank on the first attack is a common practice by clans, so that would help speed things up on assigning targets. That way, targets could be swapped on prep day, and actually have the marker as a reminder that switching was OK.
Another is just have comprehensive war plan manager screen, with 'dibs'/marked/called bases for second attacks, along with notes and whatnot.
I think the whole system is broken and no matter what sort of logarithm is used to determine the best match up, there really isn't going to be a system that works perfectly. Specifically in my clan, there are a combination of TH7-TH8 who use either dragons, hogs, or a variation of gowipeekawizwhatever the ♥♥♥♥ it's called.
The bottom line is, no mathematical function (that they will work on and implement) is going to match a good air attacker with a poorly air defended base, or a compact base with bombs (likely) outside with our good hog attacker etc...
I think the human element needs to be introduced where leaders/co's can easily let our good mid level drag attacker know that bases 15 and 17 are prime for air, but 16 would be better suited for hogs. The chat works, but can get buried in messages so you are never sure the person actually saw the advice.
Who knows though
Course, if we had an online indicator, we'd know if our clan mates got our advice ;-)
I appreciate all the replys guys :) I Have changed my idea accordingly. This thread will be closed or just die out :)
