Hi everyone,
I am Level 23 and have just 1 friend and 2 followers. I am wondering what your thoughts are on repairing my boat dock to fill boat orders? I am thinking it may be a waste since I do not have a large following and it would be difficult to fill orders. I hear others talk about the boat orders being hard/impossible to fill, so I am hesitant to spend the gold on it.
Thoughts?

Do you have all other machines which you can have at your level ? Then by all means repair the dock. Boats are fun.Quote:

So far I have all my machines, just wasn't sure as a "loner" (lol) if I could fill ANY boat orders by myself! Didn't want to spend the gold only to have a boat as a decoration! :p

Do it. It's good for gold and xp, plus you get vouchers. And you would be shocked how fast you can make gamecenter friends via hay day!

Yes you can fill boats by yourself but it is a little more difficult.Quote:

If you add friends in Game Center (a standard application on any Apple device) they are automatically a friend in Hay Day if they play the game. All over the forum you find people's GC ID's and you can send requests in Game Center. Or you can add your GC ID in this thread: http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...Game-Center-ID and people will send you requests. The only thing you have to do is accept requests.
When you have purchased the dock start saving your gold again for the next big purchase. By the time you reach the level for opening the mine / buying smelters then don't. Go for juicer and ice cream maker first. With those it is much easier to earn lots of gold again to but the mine and smelters later. Any truckorders coming in the mean time for metal bars you can just trash by tapping the trash can, a new order will appear in 30 minutes.

Ok...well, I've been out cruising people's farms since I posted (ok, who are kidding, I admit I do it regularly), and I'm seeing the boats do not seem to pay very much for items that I can sell in seconds (literally) at max price. Does the farmer get a "reward" or something that helpers do not? Or do they just get the coins and xp that the helpers do?
I am off to search the forum now to see if I can learn more about how the boat orders work.

The biggest advantage to completing boat orders is to get the colored vouchers, plus its a challenge that gives you something to work towards. I was getting board just harvesting items and selling...Quote:

Yes the gold that you earn from filling a crate is not what you would earn if you were to sell that item at your stand for max price... 3 ice cream gets you 518 gold at the stand vs 290ish for the boat crate (plus xp)

And if you are one to play for achievements, you can get more xp and diamonds by completing the captain challenge
Cap 1 (3 boats in a row complete)
Cap 2 (6 boats in a row complete)
Cap 3 (12 boats in a row)
Those are all consecutive, so if you get all 12 boats w/o missing one, you get all 3 achievments.

Hey, no worries. I am a "loner" too. I opened my dock when I was at your level and it wasn't that hard to fill. It helps a bit when you advertise on the newspaper so that people can come into your farm. The most challenging part was when it asked for sugar but nothing is impossible. I was lucky that I didn't get a double sugar order because nobody sell sugar in the papers.Quote:

The money is less but if you add the money and the xps it totals the max you can get for anything, just pays you in xps which if you want to go up a level is good, not so much if you're trying not to go up which has it's advantages in some of the challenges.Quote:

Thank you all again. This is a fun little game. Much more so, to me, than &$!@ville, that's for sure. The goals seem more reasonably spaced, not so far apart it takes weeks, months to accomplish the next level or unlock new things.
I play a LOT (too much to actually admit, even under an alias! Lol!), so you're advice is very much appreciated.
