I've been noticing the growing popularity of the 4-5 golem attacks at TH10. Even with all of the troop compositions available to TH9s currently, has anyone effectively used 4-5 golem attacks at TH9? If so, have the results been positive?

dont th10s usually use 5G for two staring tough bases (usually teasers or that square base)? At th9 you can do the same with 3-4 golems (I'd saw 4 golems for an auto 2 star).
The purpose of 5 golem is to completely soak the 5 beams of inferno towers, eliminating the need to bring freeze and protecting your dps.
For attacking as TH9 versus TH9 it is too much tankage, too little dps.
For attacking as TH9 versus TH10, possible if you have a high level AQ to do the damage. Probably 3 golems sprinkled with some giants are better to save you some space to bring more dps/units on the outside to get the 50%.
As a 9 attacking a TH10, I've found 5 golems to work nicely (5 golems, 25 wiz and 2 jump 2 rage).
Goal is to have the golems soak the infernos (as you lack a freeze spell at TH9) and push inwards with your wizzies and royals into the core.
Always go in a way in which you are only tackling 1 inferno at a time. You don't want to be facing both head on.
Jumps are to path your troops, and eliminates the need for wallbreakers to which you can't really afford to bring many of in this comp.
High lvl royals do a play a large key role in success of these attacks (4+ golem) so it may not work as well if your royals are weak.
It's also wise to hold back a few wizzies (or mins/arch or any other troop extra troop) as well for picks at the end if you fail you are just a few shy of the 50% after taking out the TH.
5 golems are an utter waste vs a TH9 though. Half the time they will just end up stuck on walls after jump spells, and you will find in general you will want more dps for attacking 9's. 2 golems is usually more than enough for most 9's.
Almost anything is an auto 2 star against TH9's. It isn't until you are constantly going up against lvl 3 infernos and max Th10's, that you will really need 4-5 golems.
Awesome, thank ps for the help!
5 golems is 150 army camp space. Depending on the enemy's base and your troop composition, you'll need to maximise the effectiveness of your remaining 70 (TH9) or 90 (TH10) space available.
Like what IDBGOD28 said, high level royals are essential to the success of your raid if you are intending to go for so many golems to tank the incoming damage. You'll need to make full use of your CC as well.
Come with a plan, or leave in defeat!
This. You don't need more than 3 golems if you are attacking a TH9. If you are a th9 attacking a TH10 with infernos, though, 5 golem may work better. It is critical that you insure the Wiz's are protected by the golems when you do this. To be honest, that's always true with these types of attacks, but with 5 golem the margin is razor-thin...
Depends on the level of the golems vs the level of the giants.
If you have level 1 golems and level 6 giants, you might want to use giants instead.
Level 2 golems? I'd sprinkle in some giants.
Level 3 or 4 golems? Now your golems are clearly better than those giants (but cost may be an issue).
12 -14 wizards should be enough.
It will be a waste to attack th9 with 5 golems.
