Bring back upgrading to Level 8 walls with Elixir and Gold

Upgrading walls without Elixir and Gold to level 8 is a pain.. i dont think Super Cell shouldve taken this idea away. Its taking too long as it is. The only reason im making it through getting level 8 walls is by gemming barracks every now and again to attack quicker. Either lower the price of walls starting at Level 8 or Let us use Elixir and Gold for the walls. I couldve already been done earlier had they not changed the update awhile back. Ive heard people say that they stopped upgrading with elixir and gold because its "taking advantage of the game". Then dont price the walls so high for people to have to farm twice to even get 1 wall going to lvl 8. Its taking advantage of my time and sometimes you mess up the attack and have to wait to attack another 30min-1hr for your 3rd attack. By that time someone has already pretty much raided you either you get lucky and jut lose trphies or you get unlucky and lose big loot and trophies. Then its starting from the beginning of gaining that loot back. Maybe i am over complaining about this certain topic, but its certainly something that really bothers me and that i hope COC will change this in future updates.

I mean what's the difference between farming gold for walls that aren't even 1 mil...you should wake up to more than half of that from mines and pumps alone. Why cripple the economy cause you can't farm 8s.

Please actually search the forum for one of the hundreds of threads on this very complaint. Some might actually have logical answers to your issue.

They're not going to change it back. Elixir for level 7 and 8 walls was horrible for the economy. It was a mistake that should have never happened in the first place.

And if you think level 7 to 8 walls are too hard, you'd better stop there and not upgrade to level 9, 10, and 11 walls. That would be WAY too hard for you.

Actually, as in stated in my response, it says I hope SC changes in this in the future updates. Idc how many people have typed a thread about this. I havent posted anything about this and i requested 2 ideas about the wall upgrade. Lower the cost or bring back the elixir upgrade. Its an idea that i wanted to talk about. Also I didnt complain that i couldnt farm the loot to upgrade the walls. Its just time consuming is all i said. So while you think this is spam, it really isnt.

I didn't either, at first. But I went back, just to see what specific reason the OP gave for wanting the elixir walls back.

Instead of the usual "I have too much elixir!!!" (which is an issue specific to TH8), it was just a boring "walls are too expensive!!!" complaint.

Level 8 walls are slightly overpriced, but only because the upgrade itself is the worst upgrade of all wall upgrades. Only 20% extra health (literally the smallest percentage bump of any level wall). It doesn't add any meaningful protection against level 5+ wall breakers. It only helps protects against level 4 and lower wall breakers. If you're being attacked with level 4 or lower wall breakers, you're most likely facing an early TH8 or lower, so skulls or purples, either way, you should be able to keep them out.

On the other hand, level 9 walls are basically the cheapest walls in the game. (Say what???? Aren't level 1 walls only 200 gold???) Okay, maybe level 1 walls are the cheapest. But level 9 walls are the next cheapest.

As ridiculous as that sounds, think about it. Almost every level of wall costs at least twice as much as the level before, except for the upgrade from 10 to 11. (That's the third cheapest, BTW)

However, level 9 walls basically cost the same as level 8 walls. (Dude, did you fail math? 1M is twice as much as 500k)

No really, hear me out! As a TH9, if you have 1M gold and 1M elixir, you can buy two level 9 walls. As a TH8, if you have 1M gold and 1M elixir, you can buy 2 level 8 walls. See? Same price. And since walls usually double in price (or more) per upgrade, the level 9 walls are basically half price.

But the level 9 upgrade is about twice as good as the level 8 upgrade. For starters, it gets 1000 hit points, rather than just 500. But it also provides additional protection against every level of wall breaker, except level 6.

So you get an upgrade that's twice as good as the previous upgrade, for basically half the cost of what it should be. Cheapest upgrade for a wall, hands down.



To the OP: walls are supposed to be expensive. It's the only thing that lets players like me tell whether players like you are dedicated clashers or not.

If you're a TH8 with maxed defenses and purple (or pink!) walls, I know you're (probably) not dedicated.

If you're a TH8 with at least half skull walls (regardless of your defenses), I know you're (probably) dedicated.

Again I did not say it's hard, I just said it's time consuming with being raided. Lvl 7 walls are too easy. I simply would just request them to extend to lvl 8 walls.

It is spam, and it is selfish and self centered to think that way. You could have commented on an already made thread on the issue, or better yet, checked to see if your ideas were talked about already by others. This isn't a vacuum, despite the common mistake in logic. Every day, for almost every hour in that day (yes I have checked), someone brand new comes into this forum, wanting to help, wanting to give this awesome idea they have, but rarely ever consider the fact that others have came here before them with the same idea.

Unfortunately (or fortunately), we never hear about the ones that know better than to assume no one else has thought of thier idea before, and actually checks things out and does research, because.. well, they look, get thier answers, and leave quietly.

Look, get your answers, and if you have nothing else to add of significances, leave. I'm sorry for the bluntness, but people need to learn how things work. There is more than enough info on most everyone's common issues if they actually looked. But no, they don't, they come in and bring up the topic, only to be reprocessed and re-done, and come up with the same answers, and leaving most newbies with bitter feelings for the understandably pointed response from tired and annoyed regulars of the forum.

And why do we have this issue? Mostly because the forum system isn't the best to handle things, and not because of the idea of 'people are stupid', which by some logic is saying they themselves are stupid. :smirk: I know where you are coming from with your thread, but I'm giving you the best option I can come up with that results in the least amount of stress and drama.

Except it really is, for those of us who have been on this forum for more than two days, let alone 4 months. This has been requested literally once a day on average for the last 4+ months. For every day that it wasn't requested (and believe me, there weren't very many), there were days where it was requested 2-3 or more times. Sometimes the same request was on the first page of this subforum (multiple times on the first page), and someone still went through the trouble of creating a forum account just to create a new request to complain about level 8 walls.

There are three main reasons this is requested:

1. The OP is a TH8 with tons of excess elixir, which is going to waste. They are done with their elixir upgrades, yet they're not even halfway through upgrading their defenses and walls.
2. The OP is a TH8, and they think walls cost too much. Having walls available with elixir would help make them cheaper (effectively).
3. The OP is a TH7 or TH8 (or lower sometimes), and wants Supercell to "bring back" the level 8 (or 7) elixir walls, because it's not fair that people could do them several months ago.

Regarding point #1: I feel bad for these people, I really do. Heck, I'm an early-mid TH8 now, so I'll be running out elixir upgrades eventually. (I've purposely left my barracks at level 9 and dark barracks at level 3, for war matching, so I'll have 12.5M in elixir upgrades when I decide to unlock GoWiPe, plus the pekka research cost. I also spend between 1M and 1.5M elixir per war, for two dragoon armies, plus war donations.)

Eventually, most TH8's realize they have a long grind ahead of them, where they can't possibly spend elixir faster than they can earn it (unless they farm slowly and spend big in war, like me), and they realize that it's unfair that TH9's can dump elixir into their walls. It really is. I'm sick of TH9's acting like there's no problem at all, that they can dump 1M elixir into walls, but it's somehow this game-shattering problem if TH8's can dump their elixir into walls. Quite frankly, I firmly believe that level 9 walls should cost gold only, or the elixir price needs to be raised to 2M.


Anyway, regarding types 2 and 3, those OP's are just whiners, spamming the forum. They very rarely even check if this has been requested before. Elixir walls were taken away over 4 months ago. Do they honestly believe that this has never been requested before? Not even once? Let alone more than 100 times???? Seriously???? :facepalm:
