That was pretty much what I meant, thanks for a nice example.

Heros contribute to offense significantly. Almost no weight on defense would be high enough to justify not leveling them. If you have the dark, put them down for upgrade. Plus they're 227.5 days from 0 to HERO (40).
My base moved up from 54k to 57k due to walls/heros/air sweeper. My walls are about 1/25/80/144 ish (level 10/9/8/7) I will get the exact count (I'm not upgrading for a war or two). I have BK10/AQ8. I've since cancelled the sweeper because I want to see if it drops me back. It is enough of a difficulty increase for air attacks, that if it doesn't move me significantly, I'm going to keep it. A few days delay is not a big deal. I am going to build two xbows as a test during prep day in the next war (and then cancel in battle day), because while testing, why not.
walls and heroes still carry little weight. My main has 37 queen 34 king, 67 leggo 116 lava 67 zap.
before update 21750 loot per storage, now 23k per storage. So my war loot went up from 522k to 552k and I finished an AT from lv11 to lv12 during that time few more walls, queen up 1 lvl.
All this got me like 5% more weight in MM. Heroes and walls counts quiet low.
cross post from cw forum. More data for you to play with.
What do you say about this?

He didn't check dude's normal base. Defenses built on normal base counts towards war weight even if you don't put them in your war base. This was changed after the speedy barb update where I instantly jumped up in rankings for having infernos in normal base but not farming base.
Update on the update.
War
Troop assist/aggro radius.
- I have failed at K on Q. I dropped him inside her radius, but near the edge (enemy K was also exposed, didn't want to go through him to her) She didn't notice him, he took out one building and moved closer and she still didn't move to attack. Update: This was due to the Q squatting on a tesla, current bug.
- LaLoon - Pups on Q and CC is much riskier now. Lure and Q kill highly recommended before LaLoon. This means that heros are strongly suggested if the AQ is more than a baby and properly centralized. RIP penta spam/LaLoon without heros. (Difficulty is up, but not insurmountable).
One way to compensate for these war changes is to rush to TH10. The stronger offense will let you bully TH9 without heros. However, it may slow your attacking skill growth curve as it's the close calls (win or lose) that force you to be better. This is the path I'm taking as I have multiple accounts and will be able to attack as TH9 on other accounts. I refuse to join the "plan to gem heros for war" group. I might do it, but I'm not going to have a game plan that includes doing it frequently.
Another way is to rush to TH9 and focus on leveling heros immediately while taking out mid TH9 and lower in war before defensive rating catches up.
The need for heros at mid to max TH9 encourages rushing. The maxer with 5 builders spends 160 days at TH9 without idle time. The maxer with 4 builders spends 200 days. The AQ takes 157.5 days to max. She basically is never available for the maxer at TH9. By starting her early, even if not rushing to TH10, the rusher has a better Q level available more often at TH9.
The maxer who doesn't spend more than the minimum time (and doesn't gem) at TH9 will struggle in war to 3 star above mid TH9 when their heros are asleep (almost always).
Farming
Biggest change is the TH+/-1 matchmaking
This makes the semi-afk high level TH's that were hiding behind the TH5/TH6 in bronze findable with next. Bronze is the new sub200. It will be interesting to see who things shake out. The storages should be mostly drained at this point and the farming pyramid should reassert itself.
Loot seems better overall in general. This is likely due to almost every TH having fewer nexts to find their targets, which leads to more efficient concentration of resources.
Storage diving is likely relatively more valuable post update than before. Better Farming yields more loot in storages generally.
I am becoming more and more convinced that it is building new buildings that really hurts, rather than upgrading existing ones. I hope to have more data in the coming weeks. On my No Def account I've noticed the following data points
(pre update)
TH7, about 50/50 level 6/7 walls, no BK, base is a 3
(post update)
TH7, about 50/50 level 6/7 walls, no BK, base is a 9
TH7, about 40/60 level 6/7 walls, BK1, base is a 13
On my Sservis account
(pre update)
TH9, about 25/75/150 lego/skull/purple walls, BK10, AQ7 or AQ8, base is a 54
(post update)
TH9, same, base is a 57.
Walls have been slowly upgrading on my accounts, but not a focus on both accounts. Defenses and heros haven't moved on either account.
For comparison ForgiveMeNot just built an inferno on his newer account
(post update)
TH10, war 1, no infernos, base is a 66
TH10, war 2, 1 level 1 inferno (built during prep), base is a 71
I think there might be more impact at lower ratings than higher ratings. As in there is some sublinear transformation from a simple linear weights regression into loot score* That's my best explanation for why 175 TH6/TH7 walls increased loot by 6, but 250 TH7+ walls (and heros) only increased it by 3.
* ie if you had a no defense with heros but without walls and a no defense without heros, but with walls, the sum of their base ratings would be higher than the base rating of a no defense account with both walls and heros.
Added a link to why heros will max before buildings for active players.
I also think so. My friend who was ahead of me in defenses (and of course he was ahead of me in wars as well) only bought the new traps and the new air defense when he got to TH9.
I bought everything new (teslas, archer towers, traps and so on), and now I'm ranked above him.
It might be because I have better walls/heroes than him but I don't know...
It looks like they have adjusted the base formula again. I don't have a lot of data. During prep day (yesterday) on current war I noticed a shift, I moved from behind a TH8 maxer to ahead, we had been tied in base rating. I was wondering if my wall building finally bumped me up a slot or two.
I went to check my rating during battle day (post patch) and I'm listed as 55k. Before the sweeper I was 54k, after that I was 57k, now 55k. I don't know when in the last few days this happened, but some change was implemented.
Opponents have one 80k base behind two 79k bases. Nothing looks like it was built during prep day (unless gemmed), but maybe some updates completed. When I get more time tonight I'm going to go through our bases and see what I find. Anyone have data points to contribute from their own base ratings/wars?
