Connectivity
So, I get disconnected from time to time when connected to my home broadband - Virgin Media is my ISP, and i have a 150mb connection (never dropping below 130mb). Occasionally this happens during a war attack. My war attacks are pretty costly on the elixir, so as you can imagine, i get pretty frustrated when my attacks end up wasted.
Most recently, i did my war attack. During which i got the WiFi/buffering symbol at around 37%. After a few seconds this cleared. So i continued, and managed to get a star, finishing on 51%. Then as the attack was about to end, i got disconnected from the game completely and it reloaded (Instantly). When it relaunched into the game, I checked the war log to see 37% and no stars. Fuming i was! So i wrote a message off to Supercell, I did so through both the in game support menu, and also sent an email to the clash of clans support email, and got no reply!
Last night my girlfriend did a war attack, which me and another clan member watched live. She got 97% with a GoWiPe strategy and 2 stars. The battle ends, tells her she was successful, quits out to the war screen and returns to her village. All the troops are gone, spells used (as expected) but she still had 2 war attacks to use?! So we checked the war screen and the war log, the attack hadn't even registered?! So she wrote off to Supercell this time. And the response we got blamed our WiFi connection;
“Hi Chief, thanks for contacting us and playing clash of clans if your battle log reflects something different than the result you saw following an attack, the change was most likely due to a mid-game connectivity issue. It is not necessary that it has to be noticeable. if there is a slight disruption in the network this can happen. Heres what happens: you start a battle, deploying troops at some point before you start or during the battle your devices loses connection to the internet, you end up playing the attack to its conclusion, but the fight wont register because you lost connection to the game. This is why your battle log may look different to what you remember. It only reflects what was saved to the game. Devices frequently lose contact with their networks for short periods of time, but clash is engineered to handle said minor interruptions. If the disconnection lasts too long. Connectivity is dropped. Please keep in mind that after connection is lost, YOUR village will revert back to how it was before this took place. This can be prevented in future raids just be certain you’re playing on a stable connection, this won’t guarantee flawless gameplay, but will make these instances extremely rare. If this is a persistent issue, try playing on other networks to see how it affects gameplay, additionally, if other people are using your network on the web it may affect bandwidth. I know how frustrating this can be, but unfortunately there’s not much we can do about networks beyond our control. Still please let me know if you have any other questions or comments”
OK, so where are the troops if the village "reverted back"?!?!?!?! How were we able to watch the replay LIVE up until the end of the attack? AND why has the same thing happened to one of out clan members on a goblin base?
Personally i think the game is awesome. But the "support"/Customer service you get from Supercell is absolutely ridiculous. Always blaming anything other than their servers from my experience.
