My small but effective DE Army!

Hey everyone.
I recently just got hogs and I love them! Partly because they look cool and in bulk are amazing.
I have experimented with them and for my uses using 3 groups of 10 aiding them with health and rage spells are effective. I then scatter 25 minions and barb king and everything is cleaned up, with a lot of resources!

I was wondering what others though of my strategy and if any others use it?

It is not like this is a very new strategy, it usualy works pretty well.


Problems are:

At townhall 7 DE is needed for BK upgrades
You only have 1 Dark barrack so it takes long to get a full 200/200 army
Minions and Hog riders have different enemys. You can loose a pack of 10+ hog riders against 1 level 2 giant bomb or 3 hog riders vs spring trap and you can loose 20 minions vs 1 air bomb. And hog riders dont trigger air bombs

This is why most players use ballons+minions

Ballons are actualy pretty similiar to hog riders, they have about the same hp, both target defense, both ignore walls. Difference are:
While ballons make more damage, hog riders are much faster.
Ballons have less problems with traps (air bombs hurt but can be negated by heal, a sam kills 1 ballon, bot that big deal compared to 3 hog riders flying from a spring trap) the air defense hits a lot harder than any other tower that hit a hogrider

But loons trigger air bombs, so minions can kill rest after.

Ok thanks for the feedback I myself have not found any trouble to the targets and spreading minions and hogs out work well. Traps sometimes get me but I don't spam 10 at a time, it's more like 2,2,2,2,2 but are also close enough to have attacking opportunities at the same defences. This also prevents mortar attacks.

What a good way to waste your de. Be better if barching for better profit margins. I wouldn't use de troops unless it was for war at th7 and 8

Ok, thanks for the feedback. I guess it was a swing and miss, anyway it was a good learning curve. I actually am ballooning with minions and few archers, it's effective to.

Also, In your raiding examples, you did not nearly get your dark elixir back! I can't spare that much dark elixir just to get gold! I will just keep using barch.
