Miners. New dark troop to target walls only.
This thread is about a new idea on a troop that will target walls only similar to the Wall Breakers except they won't self destruct after destroying their target. This troop is called the Miner. A miner is someone who breaks through rock to find a source of gold or mineral and this idea fits into Clash of Clans perfectly since the gold and elixir storage's are usually inside a compartment of walls.
The miner was a villager that set up walls in his village and was exposed to dark elixir when his village got attacked giving him incredible strength. Now his pickaxe strikes cause small trembles around the area he attacks.
How will the Miner work?
Since most bases have a couple hundred walls, the Miner can just attack any random wall but to avoid this it can be set that it targets the walls that would open a compartment. The Miner's strength makes his attacks do small earthquake damage to buildings around the wall he is striking equal to his damage per second but walls take x15 more damage. Walls will stop being targeted when every compartment is open and the miner will begin attacking the nearest structure. The walls circled in red are examples of where it would attack.

To avoid having the Miner be too similar to a Wall Breaker or be too strong, I believe it should have a small damage per second and also do less damage to walls than Wall Breakers and have a high amount of health which would be the opposite as the Wall breakers one hit with high damage and having low health.
STATISTICS
-Level 1
- Damage per second: 40
- Hitpoints: 400
- Training cost: 70 dark elixir
-Level 2
- Damage per second: 50
- Hitpoints: 450
- Training cost: 80 dark elixir
-Level 3
- Damage per second: 55
- Hitpoints 525
- Training cost: 90 dark elixir
Favorite target: Walls (Damage x15)
Damage type: Area splash
Targets: Ground
Housing space: 7
Movement speed: 16
The reason why I chose these stats is because since the Miner will stay alive even after destroying a wall it's damage would have to be lower than a Wallbreakers and require a couple more hits to destroy a wall to prevent the troop from being over powered. The Wall Breaker has a total of 6 levels so I decided to give the Miner 3 levels and make sure each level was stronger than the next two levels of a Wall Breaker and keep things balanced out. The Miner has 7 housing spaces to stop a player from making too many and having an army too powerful for any bases to counter and the moving speed at 16 so they have a chance of staying behind any troops that are meant for tanking.
Strategies
- GoWiPeM- This is still your basic GoWiPe attack except you replace your Wallbreakers with 2 Miners.
- At TH 9 the army composition would be 2 Golems, 2 Miners, 3 P.E.K.K.A's, 17 Wizards, and 3 Archers with an extra P.E.K.K.A in the castle. 1 jump spell, 2 rage spells, and 1 heal spell with both heroes.
- At TH 10 you could have 2 Golems, 3 Miners, 3 P.E.K.K.A's, 21 Wizards with an extra P.E.K.K.A in the clan castle. 2 freeze spells, 1 jump spell, 1 rage and 1 heal spell with both heroes.
The number of Miners you train will depend on the level of the walls in the base you're attacking. The best thing to do would be to keep your Miner behind your Golems but ahead of your other troops since they have less hitpoints than Golems but more than Wizards.
The type of bases you want to attack are the ones that are not too spread out. Make sure most buildings are close together or close to the walls you think the Miner will target to take advantage of his attack type.
How do you protect your base from these attacks?
The best thing to do would be to have giant bombs at the spots where you think the Miner would be at but make sure a Golem won't get to it first. It may be best to have it in a middle layer of your base because the enemy Golems might have turned into Golemites by the time they reach there. Also, make sure your mortars and wizard towers can hit the corners where the Miners attack so they will be taking damage even if they are next to a tanking troop. It is recommended to have Wizards in your clan castle as well to cause further splash damage. To avoid the Miner's earthquake damage, keep buildings away from the corners of your walls.
How will the miner look?
The appearance of the Miner could have a basic mining helmet with a flashlight attached to the front but should be a color that is not too common among the current troops. A red helmet can help a player keep track of the Miner even if it is clustered with other troops like the Barb King attacking a wall. Also a pickaxe could be the weapon since actual miners use them to dig through walls.

Of course the Miner would be able to be upgraded and after each upgrade the appearance of the pickaxe and helmet will change slightly. The helmet may gain some small details such as studs or some black lines and the pickaxe can stay with a brown handle but the top changes from silver to gold and then to the crystal that is on wizard towers and level 5 Golems.

This is all I have in thought now so if you have any additions that you think would work out reply to let me know and also give me feedback on whether you like the idea and if you think it could work.
