New Dark Troop: Dragon Slayer

New Dark Troop unit: Dragon Slayer!

“The Dragon Slayer, he who has no fear of dragons comes forth to battle. His soul resonates with the dragons, helping one another in harmony…or rather wrath if you prefer”

Summary
· The Dragon Slayer is a Melee type unit, and can only target Ground Units; however this is not the case when he finds an enemy dragon. (He is able to directly target the enemy dragon as an air type attack)

· When near a Dragon (friendly or enemy), the Dragon Slayer gains a slight damage and speed boost, similar to a rage spell. This increases as he levels up.

· The Dragon Slayer can be picked up by a friendly dragon, and over walls like a drop off, however only if he is close enough

· Be cautious this Slayer's pride can be easily shot down by a cannon, as they do extra damage to him

What Kind of Strategies this Unit would Enable

· If placed as a defense for the clan castle in a clan war, it would make it much harder for a dragon raid to get a full 3 stars, because usually a dragon raid is way over powered, so the Dragon slayer can even out that imbalance of power.

· Pair the Slayer with dragons and giants (or golem if you wish) to ensure that the Dragon Slayer won’t die, while they pull out their full potential

· This would mean that air defenses would be even more crucial to have at a higher level, as the dragons give them extra power

· The user has to be careful where to place his/her dragons and dragon Slayer, as they may cross paths or go stray from one another (or if you think they should stay near one another please do comment so). As well as having to be careful where and how strong the enemy air defenses are.

What kind of Army Compositions include this unit
· Golems + Dragons + Lava Hounds + Dragon Slayer (and if u want +healer) : Very expensive- The ground attacks would be absorbed as well as the air by the golem and lava hound, thus giving the dragon and Slayer time to resonate their souls and destroy everything together.

· Dragon + Dragon Slayer: This is more of a cheaper way to still inflict a lot of damage, as said above they go well together hand in hand as the dragons are very strong and the dragon riders gains a buff.

· Giants + Dragon Slayer + healer: Still a cheaper way and effective. The giants can be grouped with the Dragon Slayer, as he targets a defense as well and is a ground troop with high damage and medium hp. This would go well with giants, as they don’t do much individually, and have enough HP to withstand some attacks.

How to redo your base to protect from this unit
This unit is vulnerable to cannons, and is ground only. So distribute evenly your cannons throughout your base. It would be common to use Dragon Slayers on a dragon raid, so there won’t be many ground troops to absorb the enemy buildings attacks, making it harder for the poor guy…poor, poor Dragon Slayer

· Range: 0.5 tiles (2 tiles against Dragon-Dark energy wave)
· Dark Barracks level required: 8
· Cost to upgrade Dark Barracks: 4,500,000

Trivia/FAQ
· This troop can attack only ground units, except for the dragon

· The speed/strength boost is similar to the rage spell(but weaker), and only effects that Dragon Slayer (ability does not overlap with other Dragon Slayers)

· He wields a Demonic sword weapon with a gem inside that he holds, A dark wave of energy is used as an attack when an enemy dragon is sighted, they are directly targeted.

· When gaining damage and speed boost, the gem (inside the weapon) glows and radiates light

· Takes 1.5 times damage from cannons

First good detailed thread about a unique troop I have seen in a while, so kudos on that :thumbsup: Anyway, the main concern I have for this is that it would make already terrorizing mass dragon attacks at town hall 7 and 8 virtually indestructible. However, some people say they do not use their dragons past town hall 8, so I think this is a good solution. :)

One question: It's a ground troop, right?

Yes the Dragon rider is a ground troop. sorry i forgot to mention that. Thanks for the feedback :)

Like the changes. One thing, not sure if it should have a favorite target because dragons don't either and it would make them hard to use.

I have looked through the ruled out ideas board, and it does not say that this ability of the dragon helping over walls is ruled out. The first 1/2 of that thread is the ideas they DO want, only once it gets to the subtitle of RULED OUT IDEAS, then they are not allowed. Thank you for your concern though.

yeah sorry spiderpig, it wont allow me to change the title that people see. I Named it the Dragon rider originally, but then changed it to DRAGON SLAYER. People who see this please vote and/or post/comment! i know you all are viewing this :)

My only problem with decreasing 20% with 70% max, is that the first level would have to be at 50% resistance. That means that it would only survive 2 hits from a dragon, so ur better off with a Valkyrie at that point with the damage and survival hits. I will although be willing to to down 10% if other people agree, and thinking about it some more, because the last level is definitely over powered.

The moment I looked at the title, I said "Oh God, it might be one of those OP troop suggesters again". But then, I was wrong. It is a very good and complex idea. I see the proper balance of it. It's not too strong and too weak. Very nice idea, keep it up!

Thank you, I plan to keep this idea going and editing it if necessary. But I can't get far if many people don't post :( So thank you for the support and posting! :) Do you think I should lower the dragon resistance by 10% each level?
