If you're new to the game - or if you're TH7 and lower - You still have time to save yourself from tons of headaches, ridicule and embarrassment.

WHAT IS A RUSHED TOWN HALL?

Too many people get magnetized by the thought of having the best, most upgraded base ever! Actually, there's nothing wrong about that. What most people forget, however, is that simply having the highest level Town Hall in the game, doesn't mean you're a total bad-♥♥♥.

That image above is of a player whose only focus was to bring their town hall up in the ranks as quickly as possible. They didn't realize that when you do this, you actually just look like a fool. This is what "Rushing" is.

All of their defenses, walls, and everything are all practically the same as anyone who just started playing. Their base is as useful in an actual Town Hall 10 (TH10) fight as the tenth or fifteenth goblin maps in the campaign. If you've beaten those, you could probably beat this player.

The point is, you're fooling anyone into thinking "Wow! This person is super cool and amazing!"

What happened to this player after he rushed his Town Hall? Well, you can ask anyone who has done it. I haven't met a single player that was proud of their choice to rush. They have all regretted it. (Although I'm sure there are some who still hold onto the belief that Town Hall Level means EVERYTHING)

This is what I've seen happen to people who rush their TH:

• They get ridiculed in clans and in global chat if someone realizes they rushed. I've even seen the entire global chat join in.
• They instantly get removed or rejected by clans.
• They lose resources constantly because their base is easy to overtake
• They lose war matches easily because their base is easy to overtake
• They hurt the progress of clans
• They spend months and months on the top Town Hall trying to catch up on all the time they missed upgrading buildings during lower levels
• They have poor war strategies because they lack experience (mostly due to no one wanting them in their clan)
• THEY ALWAYS REGRET IT!

Rushed Town Halls don't need to be like the one in the first photo. There are less noticeable ones, and a lot of people cave in to the temptations of the next TH level.

Here's a TH 9 who rushed from TH 8. You'll notice he hasn't upgraded almost anything to the maximum you can in TH 8. Here's what a maxed TH 8 looks like:

Much more intimidating, and the amount of dedication it took to make a base like this is immense! Much more Impressive.

Now, you don't need to go all out and upgrade every single thing in order not to rush a TH upgrade. Sometimes it can be beneficial to leave a few things that aren't totally upgraded. Why? Well when you do decide to upgrade your TH to the next level, you still want to have busy Builders. More importantly, you need to save up your resources because you're going to have a ton of new things you can purchase and build. Just make sure your builders are all freed up by the time your TH level's up so that you can quickly establish a strong base with your new buildings.

If you've nearly maxed out everything in the previous TH level, your new base will already be easy to protect and your troops already at a respectable level according to your TH's level.

So good luck, make the right decisions, plan ahead, and most of all BE PATIENT! :)

Yea this is a bad thread but ill bite.. you are fundamentally right and wrong.. your right that someone who focuses entirely on TH lvl is going to basically end up getting dominated by everyone thier equal TH lvl and they will have a hard time progressing.

your wrong in your assesment that every base with a max TH and lowe defences/walls is in fact entirely focused on TH only...

The point of rushing isnt to look cool with a red house.. its to get to the maximum offensive capacity as quickly as possible to allow you to capitalize on the ability to attack stronger players for more loot.. this is a long and heated debate and many people have very strong views on the subject and Im sure the comunity as a whole will never agree but ultimately the base you are referring to May be a newb who rushed and is about to quit the game, or it may be a good player who could 2-3 star your base all day long (or 1 star with Barch).

there are two arguments Ive heard for not rushing, one is that rushed bases are impossible to gain and keep loot: well sorry to burst your bubble but the maximum loot you can lose is 10% at th 10 up to 400k (in 4mil full storages) so actually as long as you are able to either gain more than 10% of your current loot every time you attack, or attack multiple times without logging off you can easily continue to gain loot and upgrade buildings, a rushed player has a huge ammount of upgrades availible so having under 100k Gold and elixer availible is REALLY easy to do, that means that when you raid for an average of about 200k+ of each resource from other TH 10s with your max army they return the favor by getting 100% on you and only about 10k. compare this to a TH 7 who can lose 16% of their loot up to 250k, you will be attacking out for average 125k (your opponents are th 7 and have less loot) each time and losing 16k becasue lets face it, you will get steam rolled at th 7 just as easy as at th 10 rushed.. you will get your defence up to max TH 7 level faster farming as a rushed TH 10 with high level troops than as a normal th 7.

the other one you hear is that it inflates your war points making harder oponents. this is also false. I have a rushed TH 8 (going up to th 9 soon) that is lower on our war rank than a max th 7.. this base has a max lvl farming and war army meaning I get 4-6 stars per war (usually 6 unless I really mess up) and can attack usually up to 10 base levels above myself leaving easier targets below for clan mates.. im drawing oponents at TH 7 and beating opponents at th 8 (soon 9). the enimy on the other hand WILL always be able to 3 star my base so its basically trading 3 stars for 6 however in every war it takes a TH 8 to 3 star me becasue I have an extra Air Defence, this makes my rushed base actually harder to 3 star than a max th 7 (actually there are several mid level th 7s above me with the only two in my clan who are below being pre dragon th 7s) even though my AD are very low level (only 4) and the rest of my defences are all around 3-6. at higher TH levels you have MORE defences availible so if I am number 35 on my war map the chances that the th 7 35 on the other clan will 3 star me are quite slim.

Now Im not saying rushing is for everyone, or that its always good, but myself using it as my second account (main is th 9 almost max) it has been an excellent way to enjoy the game over again and test the theory of rush vs not rush. at this point my rush base is much further along than my non rush base was for equal play time, my rush base also performs better in war drawing out more attacks or from higher ranked players and gaining more stars from harder oponents earlier. rushing is certainly a strategy I enjoy and would suggest to others who are able to catch on quickly and efficiently. there are lots of great guides out there for how to do it as well!

The second one its a fool rusher.
Have a maxxer base may be intimitading, but it is the fool way of playing.
Why do spend 6 months on th8 maxxing it, if a rusher th9 that spends 3 weeks on th8 will 3* it?

if u try to get on a maxxer clan, so yes, u'll be rejected, otherside, if u are smart and look for right clans, this wont happens.

we farm MORE resourses then we lost constantly cuz we have strong troops, and know how to do it.

we almost ever 6* on clan wars, we know our edge, and know how to attack well.

we down the cw matchmaking. We haven't strong defenses, so, we paired with low defenses bases too.

• they spend months and months on the top town hall trying to catch up on all the time they missed upgrading buildings during lower levels

maxxers spends months and months beeing massacred by stronger th, we otherside, scare another ths, we have great heroes level, great walls (th9+) and almost empty storages, cuz we just farm when we need to.

• they have poor war strategies because they lack experience (mostly due to no one wanting them in their clan)

we have effectivly strategies, like laloon, we can 3* mostly of we mirrors on cws.

• they always regret it!

This right here! Probably needs to learn the difference between premie and rusher. Just watch some videos or lurk around the forums some more. But I do think the th9 is still a premie if he can't even finish cheap skulls before th9 with defenses that low.

Just played a clan war today that had 3 rushed th10s, 2 of them were kicked from enemy clan b4 war was over. I'm disappointed when I see numerous rushed ths in a war, most of the time it means an easy win and honestly I like when rushers use their maxed troops to farm because it means easy loot with no penalty for me. Don't put the rushers down, I need to pay for my upgrades lol

the rushing thing is all about getting a troop and spell lvl advantage over your opponent for easier wars. It's like the playground bully except they call it "strategy" or "engineering". U got the skill u can go head 2 head with an equal, u don't then rush and beat up the little kids for their lunch money.

U know what I would like to see to settle this? Two temp clans to war. One of all maxed th10s and th9s with maxed troops, one of all rushed th10s and th9s with maxed troops and let's see who wins. Now that would b intresting

Indisputably, there are pros and cons to either playing style, rushing or maxing. Do what you like and live with the consequence.

This is a game, there is no right or wrong way to play it. Play the game your way.

The scenario you dream above will never happen in real time. You seems not to understand how the currently match-matching algorithm work. Maxxer clan will never match against with rusher clan, since the defense rating are not the same for both clan.

I disagree, rushing can be fixed or even beneficial if done correctly.

Yes, the first image was bad, but if you know how to farm well, you can overcome it.

I rushed and none of the things you mention are true. Yesterday i was offering 400,000 gold and elixir, plus 3000 DE and all i had where th snipes. Maxing th8 is not impressive at all, if anything, its a little sad knowing over 100,000 million elixir was wasted...

Of course it won't happen lol that's my point. It would b a blood bath. Rushers r meow meow that's y they get no respect. Any fool can 3 star a lower th or player with maxed troops and spells from a th above. Don't get the rich people thing at all so I'll skip that part

This is not a fight among equals that you are trying to setup. The maxed TH have played the game a lot longer and should be expected to trounce the rushed TH. If they don't there's something very wrong. I'd call it a fair fight if they've played the game about the same amount.

Per Clash of Clans Wikia, without gems (but 5 builders), maxing takes the following number of days
TH6 - 36
TH7 - 90
TH8 - 232
TH9 - 395
TH10-616


I would fit the rushed TH9 category in your fight. I'm at 90 days played. The maxer after 90 days played is TH7 max. A rushed TH9 after 90 days with decently balanced defenses will destroy a TH7's attack and the TH9 will have no trouble 3 starring the TH7. Is that a fairer fight? We've put the same amount of time into the game. Did we get the similar results or is one of our TH better?

The rusher claim is that there is a better path to TH10 max than maxing. It goes through more and higher level offense first and less defense until later than the maxer path. How far to tilt the balance is a personal choice. Some people only do the TH.5 thing where they build offense before defense, but then build defense before they upgrade their offense further. The rusher generally has their offensive building levels more than one TH ahead of their defensive levels (I'm currently 3 ahead).

I think of it as a graph with offense and defense on the axes. The maxer takes the diagonal path straight through to TH10 max. The rusher takes a curved path that biases towards offense early on. The reviled premmie who goes up for Xbows and Infernos takes a curved path that biases towards defense early on.

The crazy thing is that the game thinks I have near TH8 max defenses (324k/324k/1200 rating) on the war map! (this turns out to be reasonably accurate) Somehow BOTH my offense AND my defense are ahead of where the maxer would be.

Those who claim that they are maxers is not really a maxer. They only max defenses and move to next TH ignoring walls, mines, collectors and even heroes. In essence they are rushers as well.

They wouldn't be matched up together in a clan war for obvious reasons.

But in the case this did happen (for the sake of argument), the winner would be dependent on which clan is more skillful in attacking. If they are of equal skill, the maxed defense clan would win. The rushed defense clan would need considerably better attacking skill in order to win the war.

FYI, we don't meet a whole clan of maxed bases but we war vs clan that have few max TH9 and mid TH10 (lv3 infernoes), have all max troops and we 3 starred those bases.

The funny thing is maxers rarely could 3 stars a rushed base in CW, most of the time only 2 stars.

This is the holy grail of rushed bases. Drink from it people. I totally agree with every word. Maxed th8 here doing the th8.5 route right now, with a mini account a rushed th7 on the way to getting my dragons at level 2. ☺

thanks Angelotan , I just wanted to throw in my take on it, honestly as someone who has done both I wouldnt ever do maxing again.. its a huge waste of time and energy IMO but if you are not a skilled attacker it would be harder to rush, I think rushing is faster and more fun but maxing is easier for less skilled players to develop thier skills..

also for the record about 90% of maxers at th 10 are gemmers.. that doesnt mean they are good or impressive and ive seen many clan wars where max th 10 with max troops can only 2 star or worse on my th 9.. Its not that my base is good its just that rushing, maxing, gemming doesnt matter what you do to get up there, once you have max level troops you need SKILL. if I see a base with max walls heroes and buildings I think wow, someone has deep pockets and no more point for them to play..

oh and to the point of a poster way at the start who said that rushers will spend months and months at TH 10 trying to catch up. yes thats the point of it actually.. you get to max th lvl with max troops and then use your higher farming rate to quickly leverage up your walls, heroes, and defences to get them caught up.

Yes, I'm using Morgauth's guide. Very handy, especially since I am in a war clan. I'm very busy with my TH9 account that I can only raid on my mini account three or four times a day but comparing my progress to my maxer account, it will only be a matter of time before this account becomes a maxed TH8 as well. Or I may rush on to TH9. Still weighing. But so far I agree with you, maxing before TH7 is pointless. TH7 is where the real loot is.

I do buy gems every once in a while. I wanna become a skilled player who buys gems. Good combo. Lol.

I wish people would try making a rusher mini account as well. I used to have the same reservations against rushing, but now I realized both have pros and cons, depending on how you wanna play the game, and the results you want to achieve especially if you are in a war clan.

As I mentioned the crazy thing is if you plot topographical curves of equal playing time, my rushed TH9 with TH6 defense is on the same curve as the max TH7. But I am rated by the game as near TH8 max D and have LaLoon with Hound 2 tonight! Seemingly, ahead in both aspects of the game.

Consider defenses, a maxer new to TH9 has Air D levels of 6/6/6/0 (690 dps), while a rusher who keeps defenses at -2 Th has been TH9 for a while and has Air D levels of 5/5/5/5 (760 dps). Lest you think I'm being unfair to the maxer, the cost/benefit is below

Level 4 Air D (rusher -3TH on D) is 9.2 days/0.92M gold and provides 160 dps
Level 5 Air D (rusher -2TH on D) is 15.2 days/2M gold and provides 190 dps
Level 6 Air D (maxer) is 23.2 days/4.16M gold and provides 230 dps

The maxer has stronger singular air defenses, but considered as a group,

4 Level 4 Air D (rusher -3) takes 36.8 days/4M gold and provides 640 dps
4 Level 5 Air D (rusher -2) takes 60.8 days/8M gold and provides 760 dps
3 Level 6 Air D (maxer) takes 69.6 days/12.5M gold and provides 690 dps

I, as a rusher - 3, have almost the same level of Air D in about half the time as the maxer. If you consider one (or two) to be knocked out with targeted snipes (cc loons, cb-laloon, etc), then the comparison shifts from 640 vs 690 to 480 vs 460 (or 320 vs 230), which straight up favors the rusher.

The maxer has spent more time/gold than the rusher - 2 case and gets defenses that are only slightly better than the rusher - 3. This is why I am counted as near TH8 max, as a similar point applies to all defensive buildings. Also, having the dps concentrated more makes it easier for the attacker to target the buildings. Rusher - 3 at TH9 takes 98 days/16.7M gold, TH8 max takes 399 days/122M gold. Adding in the 4 level 1 Teslas I've built, I've achieved a similar defensive rating with 1/4 the time (102) and 1/6 the gold (20.7M).


It almost sounds like the best way to advance your defenses is to rush and spread out the building levels rather than max and concentrate them in fewer buildings.*

If you consider one (or two) to be knocked out with targeted snipes (cc loons, cb-laloon, etc), then the comparison shifts from 640 vs 690 to 480 vs 460 (or 320 vs 230), which straight up favors the rusher.

The maxer has spent more time/gold than the rusher - 2 case and gets defenses that are only slightly better than the rusher - 3. This is why I am counted as near TH8 max, as a similar point applies to all defensive buildings. Also, having the dps concentrated more makes it easier for the attacker to target the buildings. Rusher - 3 at TH9 takes 98 days/16.7M gold, TH8 max takes 399 days/122M gold. Adding in the 4 level 1 Teslas I've built, I've achieved a similar defensive rating with 1/4 the time (102) and 1/6 the gold (20.7M).


It almost sounds like the best way to advance your defenses is to rush and spread out the building levels rather than max and concentrate them in fewer buildings.*

Sservis...please stop making such well thought out and educated responses. Rushers are wrong, they just have to be...lol...Actually I would love to see you write an entire thread detailing the efficiency of rushing vs maxing. The more posts we make, which actually explain why rushing is a valid and acceptable way of playing this game, the better. Unfortunately, I don't think maxers will ever stop clumping rushers together with premmies(Th10 with no walls, defense, or offense...), but maybe...who knows :)

Too many people get magnetized by the thought of having the best, most upgraded base ever! Actually, there's nothing wrong about that. What most people forget, however, is that simply having the highest level Town Hall in the game, doesn't mean you're a total bad-♥♥♥.

All of their defenses, walls, and everything are all practically the same as anyone who just started playing. Their base is as useful in an actual Town Hall 10 (TH10) fight as the tenth or fifteenth goblin maps in the campaign. If you've beaten those, you could probably beat this player.

The point is, you're fooling anyone into thinking "Wow! This person is super cool and amazing!"

What happened to this player after he rushed his Town Hall? Well, you can ask anyone who has done it. I haven't met a single player that was proud of their choice to rush. They have all regretted it. (Although I'm sure there are some who still hold onto the belief that Town Hall Level means EVERYTHING)

This is what I've seen happen to people who rush their TH:

• They get ridiculed in clans and in global chat if someone realizes they rushed. I've even seen the entire global chat join in.
• They instantly get removed or rejected by clans.
• They lose resources constantly because their base is easy to overtake
• They lose war matches easily because their base is easy to overtake
• They hurt the progress of clans
• They spend months and months on the top Town Hall trying to catch up on all the time they missed upgrading buildings during lower levels
• They have poor war strategies because they lack experience (mostly due to no one wanting them in their clan)
• THEY ALWAYS REGRET IT!

Rushed Town Halls don't need to be like the one in the first photo. There are less noticeable ones, and a lot of people cave in to the temptations of the next TH level.

Here's a TH 9 who rushed from TH 8. You'll notice he hasn't upgraded almost anything to the maximum you can in TH 8. Here's what a maxed TH 8 looks like:

Much more intimidating, and the amount of dedication it took to make a base like this is immense! Much more Impressive.

Now, you don't need to go all out and upgrade every single thing in order not to rush a TH upgrade. Sometimes it can be beneficial to leave a few things that aren't totally upgraded. Why? Well when you do decide to upgrade your TH to the next level, you still want to have busy Builders. More importantly, you need to save up your resources because you're going to have a ton of new things you can purchase and build. Just make sure your builders are all freed up by the time your TH level's up so that you can quickly establish a strong base with your new buildings.

If you've nearly maxed out everything in the previous TH level, your new base will already be easy to protect and your troops already at a respectable level according to your TH's level.

So good luck, make the right decisions, plan ahead, and most of all BE PATIENT! :)

Everyone gets that rushing for offense gets you a better offense sooner. It's kind of "duh, prioritize something, get something (but give up other things, right?)". What no one told me and shocked me is that I have a better defense too. If I can help people understand that you'll be fine on the defensive side of things in Clan Wars, then mission accomplished.

I struggle to find reasons not to rush for offense (and defense).

Sservis , yea you are right, I didnt think that was really a secret either but you articulated it in a really nice way.. for equal play time you have a stronger defence. hell for less play time you have a stronger defence :D I think ive read this a few times in other rushers guides but nobody ever really spelled out the numbers how you did.. nice work!

and think about it people, can you 3 star a th 8 as easily as a th 7? no because a TH 8 has an extra air defence so they have 2x the dammage left even after you 3x LS one,

to add to your post as well the Clan castle makes for much stronger defence too! by upgrading your TH and having more buildings its harder to lure troops and by upgrading your clan castle you can hold more... getting stronger troops in a bigger CC makes your base much harder to 3 star and gives the weaker structures (but as pointed out below higher number so equal or greater dammage) more time to fire.. 5 extra archers or having two witches instead of 1 will really make your defence in wars much stronger.

and to be a real jerk ill add the time factor too! at town hall 9 you get many more buildings than a max th 8 so even if you are able to clear all the defences with a loon or dragon attack it will still take a lot more time flying around.. this is valuable time that you may lose a star to since time to attack doesnt increase per th lvl so the time per building actually decreases.. example: at th 8 you have 64 buildings and 3 minutes to attack, thats 2.81 seconds per building you need to kill to 3 star.. now at th 9 you get 73 buildings, this brings you down to 2.57 seconds per building, its a difference of 8.5%... now I didnt factor in the HP of buildings which is also a factor but travel time is one of the things that eats up an attack time the most so based on that and the before mentioned reasons a properly rushed th will almost always be harder than its maxed level down equivelent

You made many valid points. As for reasons not to rush, there are a few that come to mind:

1) rushers tend to max the troops they use. In the future, sc may nerf a troop and buff another less used troop (e.g. hogs and valks, respectively) and you will be stuck with level 1 with said troop, where the maxer may be ready to go with a high end or maxed troop using a new hot strategy.

2) visuals/aethetics. Can't agrue that maxed bases look more bad a$$ :)

3) high end clan recruitment. Many hardcore clans have requirements of "no rushed bases" and/or "combination of lvl 50+ heroes" for example. This a barrier to rushers that some maxers may not have to endure (taking into consideration some clans want maxed TH8s too, not just 9s and 10s)

4) what's the rush? This is one of the best games many people have played in a while. What's the point of getting from point A to point B the absolute fastest, only yo get sick of the game quicker than if you took your time maxing? Some people wanna ride this out as long as they can, with no new mind-blowingly great game on the horizon. 5) there's a sense of accomplishment given when you max out bases. It's not for everyone, but for those who enjoy it and for those who are OCD like that, it's a good enough reason to max.

I am fully convinced there's no one absolute right way to play this game, and I've heard fantastic reasons from both extremes that I can respect both types of players and any players in between. Just makes sense to play the way that gives you the most enjoyment.

Thank you. I may have to write such a guide, but it's likely to be math heavy and that will cause it to be ignored.

The degree of rushing is a personal choice, from maxer (rusher - 0) to TH.5 (rusher - 1) to Rusher (rusher - 2 or more). The defensive minded premmie is even a rusher (rusher + 1 or more).

Most arguments against rushing have a solid counter which turn the negative into a choice of how you want to play the game. Maxing is a viable play style, slow, steady, savor the sights. I have to keep reminding myself that having only one attack at TH9 is temporary and that the maxer doesn't have any attacks at TH9 until after playing for 7 months or so.

and yes having one attack is better than none right? I guess the ideal balance for a clan of rushers would be for each to focus a different kind of attack, alternate one ground one air, the ground guys would lag behind a bit tho

Seriously, if they want to say that Supercell's formula for how hard a base is to defeat and where it should rank on the war map isn't all that great, then they aren't arguing with me anymore. They can pound sand with Supercell, it's not going to bother me.

Personally I'd say my base is underrated by Supercell, not overrated. They can check my clan war log and see how my base is doing and notice that it has yet to be three starred by a TH8 through 7 wars, despite ranking under TH8 Max.

Here are my initial thoughts on why these are not a big deal to me. My alt account approach isn't for everyone and I do agree that there is a lot of interesting gameplay at TH6, TH8, TH9, and TH10 (mass dragons at TH7 is too easy/boring)

You're comparing unequal playing time. In 3 months, I have an attack at TH9. The Maxer takes about 7 months to get their first attack to where I am (their [go]holo is very strong TH9 + day 15 with Loon 6/queen/4th spell/220,30 space/etc). However, unless it takes me more than 4 months to level a different attack, I'm still ahead. By the time I reach 7 months played, I'll have multiple armies maxed and be more resilient to gameplay changes.

It's impossible for the rusher to lose this comparison (total lab time is same for both players, and the specialized approach is likely to get to the good stuff sooner than the generalist) unless some of the rusher TH9 upgrades are invalidated and turned into wasted time. To the extent that they don't need every troop upgraded, the rusher may still come out ahead.

ie I may have wasted 10 days on Lava Hound 2 if it's nerfed, while the maxer postpones that upgrade until the end of TH9 and gains ground early in TH9. However, if the new attack doesn't need dragons, I still have saved 17 there, still ahead by 7 net, etc)

AQ25 at TH9 is 122.5 days to play off your 50+ heros. That is a minimum of 122.5 days after the maxer reaches TH9 (6-7 months). So they'll have the AQ at the required level no sooner than 10-11 months into playing the game. One of the reasons I rushed was specifically to qualify for top tier guilds sooner without lots and lots of gem usage. It is easier to hit any combined hero mark if you start on it sooner, rather than effectively capping the levels at BK10/AQ0 in TH8 and below.

I do agree that each TH has it's own flavor and missing out is a shame.

I started a bunch of Sservis - # (minus num) accounts shortly after I started. They were targetted to be terminal at different TH level. They're mostly rusher - 2, not quite as extreme as my main, rusher - 3.

I'm going to round a few of them into TH8's, some into TH9's, and a few TH10's or TH11's (it's coming) or maybe they'll all be max at THMAX (Sservis - 8 is about to hit TH7 and didn't stop at TH2) I'm going to keep the lights on and the lab working at least.

Once the proper numbers, part of the math and real evidence was presented, all the maxers suddenly died. Haha sservis is a champion !!!

I am also a fellow rusher and I cant tell you how many times Ive tried to make people see the light... If you know what your doing rushing will always be more efficient than maxing. It does make me glad that there is more and more of an acceptance of smart rushing throughout the forums, back when I went to th9 about 8 months ago at lvl 60 rushing was for the most part looked down upon but thankfully many fine clashers such as those above are helping to change that.:cool:

I am in no way trying to say maxing in more efficient, it will NEVER be more efficient than smart/calculated rushing. If any maxer is trying to win an efficiency race, they will lose. My point is that many maxers want to enjoy every aspect of every TH, and are not concerned with getting everything the fastest. So long as builders are always working, time is technically not wasted, as you'll need to do those upgrade eventually anyways if the end goal of a rusher and maxer is the same....... maxed TH10 base (until TH11 comes)]

But please keep in mind not everyone has time for alt accounts (particularly adults with families/full-time work). One dedicated account already takes up a lot of time and a lot of clashers have real-life obligations that don't allow for multiple accounts to be made/played. If you are only going to have one account, there's a bit more incentive to maxing to enjoy all aspects of the game rather than rushing and missing out on less popular offensive attack styles and defensive game play.]

Just one last point to make clear: rushing is more efficient, no debate there. But just because this is true doesn't make maxing a waste of time if the player enjoys the act of maxing for reasons stated in my post on page 4. I find the biggest argument for rushing over maxing is one of time/efficiency. If you take time out of the equation, then maxing is a very viable way to enjoy the journey of this game.

You don't need to convince anyone why rushing is the way to go and you don't need anyone's acceptance. If you enjoy it, just do it. And you can 3-star their maxed th7 bases with your th9 laloonion army, just to prove a point :)

To be clear, we are in agreement, pretty much completely. If I had one only account and could advise myself with what I know now, I would rush to TH8, stay there until I had fully mastered the attacks, likely dragons (easier to level) followed by hogs and variants. Then I would level to TH9, learn attacks while leveling heros, eventually apply to a hardcore clan and hang out at TH9 max for a good while. Probably somewhere in this journey I would create a second account to replace the first at TH9 max and move the first account up to TH10.


Multiple accounts can work nicely with hardcore guilds as you can play leapfrog. Level one while warring on another. Never having to pause or do both at the same time on any one account. It also makes it possible to mostly skip gemming of heros in TH9 since they level outside the spotlight.

I have the two accounts and barely enough time for both lol. amazing that you can handle so many!

I don't know how much handling I manage.

1 rushed TH9, want to wall farm hard, will cut into other playing time (walls here versus alts)

The alts are mostly low level, early TH7 and below, they're being slow played with only 3 builders rather than the 4 you'd normally have by early in TH7 (some gems may have gone to boosting at times)

Nicely thought out. Actually, I remember last year thinking about making a post when my base (as a TH9) had the same amount of builder time in it as a max TH8. It was clear that my base was a strong (though still months from maxed) TH9. There were no obvious weaknesses to the base and I was reasonably far into upgrading my queen (along with other offensive perks of being a TH9). While I did not max TH9, I came fairly close - had I stayed longer I would have started to have idle builders while heroes upgraded and I continued upgrading troops.

As a solo player, I completely subscribe to rush -1 or -2. That was the basis for my guide (to growing fast). As someone managing an "open recruiting" war clan, I have a little more nuanced view and I do see how others can get into the max only mentality. Generally, I have had more bad luck with rushed base players in war and as I got more aggressive in screening them out, the better things went. Is this an issue with rushing? I don't think so. Instead I believe it is an issue of correlation.

If you will forgive the tangent, it reminds an observation about what is more important for determining if a production car will be in rollover accident - two doors or differences in physics (center of gravity, etc). It turns out two doors has a stronger correlation, i.e. the behavior one sees with drivers of two-door cars that leads to more rollovers than the physics of the car.

Similarly, my observation is that really excellent rushers are an asset, but among the population of people with bases that are rushed (never mind preemie), I find more of them are not skilled attackers as well. It is a shame too.

So, in the end, I do believe in thoughtful rushing and I think that done really well rushed bases can be an asset in war, but as I manage a group of people I don't know in real life and have modest means by which to communicate with them, I find that keeping rushing to the "minus 1" level helps keep people screwing up the clan. It seems that the amount of time it takes to properly rush to TH9 is still not long enough to teach most people to fight well. :-)

OP: what they do is their choice. Besides, the more rushers there are, the more easy loot for us :p

OP : let them max, there more th8s and 9s max, the better it is for fellow rushers. I just raided a fully maxed out th9 ( all lavas ) and 20+ heroes. Thank you for 500,000 loot and 2000+ DE :)

So happy to see this thread. I've had enough of people posting threads on "why you should rush your TH" and all of that nonsense. I've given up trying to persuade them that rushing is not beneficial. Go ahead and rush! More loot for me! Just don't expect to get into my clan, ok? :)

So I should have stayed at TH 8 to max my defenses and not gotten my village to what it is now? Basically kept full elixir storages while my defenses were being maxed? Hmm...Idk

Oh but in war I'll get smashed...yeah I will if the opponent is not a GoWiPe 2 star warrior...so I give up 3 stars...but my troops can get me 3 stars back too...so I can get the clan 6 stars.... and because my defenses are low I can choose to attack above my ranking to help out the clan, but can also guarantee I will get three stars against my own match ranking wise in war

So what are you saying about rushing being so bad? I am not saying its for everyone there are pros and cons to both, but its not a smart thing to say NO RUSHERS allowed in a clan. Don't confuse a rusher with a premmie, which are the pictures the OP showed.

before you say anything about rushers, check first how we manage to accomplish something faster than the norm...I already have 2 rushed accounts and both of it are successful in wars and even it's farming bases...check my clan out and you'll see...

Too many people get magnetized by the thought of having the best, most upgraded base ever! Actually, there's nothing wrong about that. What most people forget, however, is that simply having the highest level Town Hall in the game, doesn't mean you're a total bad-♥♥♥.

That image above is of a player whose only focus was to bring their town hall up in the ranks as quickly as possible. They didn't realize that when you do this, you actually just look like a fool. This is what "Rushing" is.

All of their defenses, walls, and everything are all practically the same as anyone who just started playing. Their base is as useful in an actual Town Hall 10 (TH10) fight as the tenth or fifteenth goblin maps in the campaign. If you've beaten those, you could probably beat this player.

The point is, you're fooling anyone into thinking "Wow! This person is super cool and amazing!"

What happened to this player after he rushed his Town Hall? Well, you can ask anyone who has done it. I haven't met a single player that was proud of their choice to rush. They have all regretted it. (Although I'm sure there are some who still hold onto the belief that Town Hall Level means EVERYTHING)

This is what I've seen happen to people who rush their TH:

• They get ridiculed in clans and in global chat if someone realizes they rushed. I've even seen the entire global chat join in.
• They instantly get removed or rejected by clans.
• They lose resources constantly because their base is easy to overtake
• They lose war matches easily because their base is easy to overtake
• They hurt the progress of clans
• They spend months and months on the top Town Hall trying to catch up on all the time they missed upgrading buildings during lower levels
• They have poor war strategies because they lack experience (mostly due to no one wanting them in their clan)
• THEY ALWAYS REGRET IT!

Rushed Town Halls don't need to be like the one in the first photo. There are less noticeable ones, and a lot of people cave in to the temptations of the next TH level.

Here's a TH 9 who rushed from TH 8. You'll notice he hasn't upgraded almost anything to the maximum you can in TH 8. Here's what a maxed TH 8 looks like:

Much more intimidating, and the amount of dedication it took to make a base like this is immense! Much more Impressive.

Now, you don't need to go all out and upgrade every single thing in order not to rush a TH upgrade. Sometimes it can be beneficial to leave a few things that aren't totally upgraded. Why? Well when you do decide to upgrade your TH to the next level, you still want to have busy Builders. More importantly, you need to save up your resources because you're going to have a ton of new things you can purchase and build. Just make sure your builders are all freed up by the time your TH level's up so that you can quickly establish a strong base with your new buildings.

If you've nearly maxed out everything in the previous TH level, your new base will already be easy to protect and your troops already at a respectable level according to your TH's level.

So good luck, make the right decisions, plan ahead, and most of all BE PATIENT! :)
