I don't know if this has been suggested before but I have an idea on how to address the excess elixir at TH8. Make Level 9 walls available at TH8. This way the cost per max wall at TH8 would be 1.5 million and 3 million for TH9. It will also help balance the gold/elixir cost at TH8.
Since players will have to wait until they have 1million elixir before being able to dump it into walls there would still be loot available. Thanks for reading and comments are welcome.
Don't believe it would help much. First a th8 with level 9 walls would be op against lesser villages. And 1 mill elix is easy 2 achieve... Loot penalties at 1 mill would leave less than a 100k available so wouldn't help. Not 2 mention th8s wine about 2 much loot for lvl 8 walls.... Doubtful they would stay 2 complete lvl 9s...
Elixir spending on walls at TH8 almost ended CoC last year. For this reason alone bringing it back the way you suggest is the worst idea that could possibly be considered. There are thousands of pages of posts explaining why. In they end they all add up to this. Changing the game to benefit a few players who are late TH8 and don't want to upgrade at the cost of the vast majority of players is bad game design and bad for their company.
If you have excess elixir, use it to make expensive armies and raid for gold.
The problem the is that wizards take so long to train. Want wizard training shortened.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe when the update was implemented last year TH8s were only allowed to have level 8 walls which is 500k and easier to get than 1M. If dumping 1M elix at a time on walls ruins the economy then loot must be reaaallyyy bad for TH10s since TH9s have that option. A good economy should allow a good flow of resources from one town hall to next.
It might be OP as kyliezpow27 suggested though.
Yes. TH10 economy has not recovered and TH9 should not be allowed to sustain sub 1mill elixir levels. This is the main reason I have not upgraded to TH10 myself. SC did not fix the TH10 economy that but the partial rollback was at least a step in the right direction.Quote:

I do have to admit, I have a frick-huge stockpile of Elixir I can't use fast enough. And remember, I made the argument of just spending it on more costly armies... that that should tell you something.
Been doing pure wizard rush attacks, with heal spells, and has proven to mostly use more Elixir than I gain, and has been surprisingly effective at base breaking and storage raiding. With a King as point, with a regen of 48 mins, he is already up and going before half the wizards are ready while using all 4 barracks for wizard training.
If this was an event with 1-gem barracks boosting, I'd so be using that right now. Anyway, will likely ask in another forum what would be a good army to use in this situation.
I am right there with you Warren. I am now using all dragon/3 spell raids for loot on my maxed TH8 while I grind out a few more wall segments. Fortunately for me it is my second account so I can use slow cook armies and I don't experience any real frustration from the cook time. All that said it would be worse if I could sink all of my elixir into walls. I understand this and accept it. I will have a second TH9 soon.Quote:
