I understand that there are elders and what not. But my proposal is, let the clan leader give titles. Titles are just titles, words next to the name of the member and nothing else. This would make the game more interesting as players would become happier and leaders can reward loyalty better.
And as for powers. There are only a few powers anyway. Put symbols for them instead. I am sure this wouldn't be much of an effort to change.
