Hello all,
i am looking for some advice. Right now I am currently TH5 and only have the two original builder huts. I have about 460 gems right now and at a trophies count of about 1000. Should I try to make it to the 1250 trophy achievement to get enough gems for another builder hut?
Let me know your thoughts.

Yes, as soon as you can. The third builder will help you tremendously, so the sooner you can get it, the better.
I agree with Zach.
Should be quite easy to accomplish if you select your targets carefully. Might need to be constantly online for around 2 to 3 hrs for the last few trophies.
I got mine at TH5 too.

The more builders the merrier! If you have to just go for people with their town hall outside their walls and defenses for easy trophies. Also, if you ever plan on spending money on gems, I can't stress enough how important it is to get the builders first compared to using the gems on speeding things up.

Totally. I gemmed my third builder, but it was totally worth it.
Oh yes that third builder is pretty awesome. And if you have spare money get 4 + 5. Best investment in the game in my opinon :)
Go for it! 3rd builder is the key for player who don't want to spend money in the game.
Because 3rd builder provides you 50% more of your building/upgrading rate.
Even if you don't play/farm enough resources to upgrade your defense building, you can put 3rd builder to upgrade those Gold Mines/Elixir Collectors for long term development.
Notes that, after getting 3rd builder, you should save remaining Gems for 4th builder at cost of 1,000 Gems. It's achievable!

Again thanks for all the input. I have been raiding it up. Is it worth waiting and training wizards or should I stick with the arch/barb tactic?
Whatever suits you is the best.
IMO, barb and archer are suffice. The key is constant online and choose the easy base. Those with TH outside, or spread out buildings.
Aiming only TH or 50% damage is more time-efficient.
