name changes for gems

First off, my name has been Godson since gamebattles.. socom 2 in 2003. I have used this name on every single game i have ever played since then. I started c.o.c. a few months ago and just recently found out there is already a Godson who has made quite the name for himself on youtube..So. Not only could c.o.c. make a ♥♥♥♥ ton of money off this idea, but I am positive many users would use this feature...

500 gems for a name change?

Also, maybe after a player changes their name-- something can go below it such as (previously: Godson) for example.. just for a few days so that clan members will know you changed your name.

Sounds pretty fair.

Haha, Socom was very fun. The old devs from the studio are making a new game via Kickstarter. Sorry, have a huge backlog & forgot the title.

I want this too, I don't need it but options are nice. It maybe difficult as Sony hasn't found a way to easily change PSN names.

*Active/ Live “Online Status” examples: colored icons, on/off indicator, etc.
*Indicate last online date
*Remove the “Report” button/feature from global chat. Abused too often, and mute is better solution


Though a good idea it is currently ruled out.

I think that is indicating the name change of a village.. maybe not the player name. Could be made a little more clear but if not oh well. I'm still Godson :)

Actually, there are no player names, it is all village names.

And read it for a moment as change the name of Gems to something else, not a village name change lol XD

Its for security reasons. They (SC, Sony, and others) don't need to build as many protections into the game if the name you are tracked by doesn't change.

Guys would abuse it unfortunately. Many of the guys wanting it have admitted its because they have trolled lots of clans and want to start over on their reputation. That would be the most common use.

That said, I see that the OP has raised a better reason than trying to escape a 'known troll' status. His is actually pretty good and if it was my call personally I would say he should get to change it for free. The problem is their published reasons that they change names does not cover that. (Name has to be offensive or contain personal info)

Here is a possibility for this one case - Godson is indeed well known and a great ambassador to the game. You have to think SC likes the good work he does for them that promotes their game. They might be willing, not for you but for Godson, to allow a person to stop undermining his name. (forgive me for putting it that way but its to show you how to make your case) So try contacting Godson and see if he would work with you to approach SC to ask if they would make this special exception.
