Upgrade TH or wait for collectors?

tl;dr: I'm a th7 in a clan of mostly th9 players, wondering if I will be able to help contribute better in wars if I stay and max out my collectors (which are currently mostly all level 8), or push to th8 sooner.

My thought process: I know th7 is a great farming level, and th8 is kind of more difficult. So I was thinking about maxing my collectors before moving on to th8 (they're all level 8, except 1 elixir drill and 1 gold mine, which are lower) since the farming will be more difficult. But I want to contribute the most that I can to my clan, so then I was thinking I should get to th8 as soon as possible. But then I was thinking that my non-maxed out collectors are weaker and will get torn through easier, so maybe I'd be helping my clan out more by maxing out my collectors so they're a little stronger for enemy units to go through. Plus, with the matchmaking system, I should be pulling in "weaker" opponents in our enemies clan (at least theoretically), right?

The big draw to going to th8 faster is to get level 3 dragons and an extra air defense.

The big draw to maxing out my collectors first is that they're stronger, and I'll maybe help to pull in weaker enemy clan members by staying at a lower level.

I just don't know what to do! I keep going back and forth... so I was hoping someone could really help me think it through.

Jump to th 8. Waiting for mines and collectors is useless if your lab and walls are maxed so go to th 8.
p.s. the mines and collectors have very small weight in your defense rating in war compared to other defenses so they might pull one weaker opponent but it won't be very weak compared to your base

Upgrade to th8 and upgrade collecters while waiting for th upgrade. Collectors are cheap anyway, and farming at th8 is great anyway, the real pain is th9 lol

upgrade your collectors as much as you can but not all of them, keep some for the next th upgrades that if you have some free builders and don't have enough loot to upgrade your buildings, just upgrade them :-)

go to th8, just there u can let them lvl 12 xD

Go to TH8, the lab time is so long that you can max your collectors and defenses before your lab can even complete

I prioritised my collectors last. When I maxed my defences, walls and lab upgrades, I moved up town halls.

I had lvl 8 collectors when i was in th7, th8 and half of th9.

I have just maxed all my collectors as a th9.

Move up to th8 and start on your lab upgrades etc

Max out defenses and army first, then upgrade TH, then upgrade collectors and mines while waiting for TH
