Hello Clash of Clans Community,
As you may all know, Town Hall 10 has a nice lava based theme. My idea is quite simple, lets add some traps which would compliment this theme, i call this suggestion the "Lava Trap".
CONCEPT:
This would be a ground trap only. The lava trap would cover approximately 1x1 space (same space as spring trap). Once enemy troops step and activate the lava trap, initially a sink-hole would appear, and the first troop which steps on it, would fall through the ground. (Would not work on Golem's or Hero's).
Seconds later lava would fill the sink-hole. (Some nice moving effects would be cool). Any troops standing on the lava (Hero's and Golems included) would take periodic damage. (Damage suggestion below). Once this trap is activated it will last until the duration of the attack .
Damage:
Sink-hole effect:
First troop which steps on the trap falls through the ground and receives 100% damage (does not work on hero's or Golems)
Lava effect:
10 Damage + 1% hp damage per second.
The idea behind the mix damage type is to keep it in balance with all troop types, by damaging low level troops and high level troops relatively fairly. If only the 10 damage was applied it would have little to no effect to Hero's and Golems. On the other hand if we had percentage base damage only then it would be quite hard to destroy troops such as barbarians. As a result i believe a nice mix of both is best suited. I encourage adjustments to the damage, as it is only a suggestion and should be tweaked based upon more in game testing.
Upgradable:
No, (Unless there is a time expiry on the trap in which case upgrading it would increase the time it stays active)
Rearm:
In order to rearm the trap you would need approximately 50 dark elixir for each trap.
Availability
This trap would only be available to town hall 10's as it matches the theme.
Strategy:
Placing these next to a wall will reinforce it significantly, it would cause wall breakers to be affected by the sink-hole effect, meaning they are instantly killed. Any troops passing through it would incur periodic damage. In addition i believe that golems would be slightly vulrnable to the trap, the sink-hole would activate but not kill them, however the lava effect would do some nice damage if the golem stays too long.
This will force attacking players to use a bit more precision and skill in order to successfully complete GOWIPE attacks. In addition players would be forced to use jump spells more appropriately in order to prevent troops from staying on lava traps too long (while they try to break through the wall for example).
Amount of traps:
4-5 traps
Please let me know what you think, i believe this is a solid idea and could potentially get approved. It has quite a lot of strategic benefits and would really benefit the town hall 10 theme. Please share your thoughts!
