But if this was added, wouldn't there be people complaining about exactly hitting the self destruct button?

The only way I see this working is that the Hounds burst when their favorite target is no longer available.
Then again, I like how it is now. Makes proper planning more of a challenge.
The hound is not designed to be a clean up troop, and so I don't think this is a good idea. The challenge with the hound is knowing when to deploy, how long it will last, and planning the appropriate deployment of the remainder of your troops.
Take one less hound and pack in a few wizards and archers to speed up clean up. Let's not fix something that isn't broken.

8-10-12 lava pups per lava hound will greatly help the offensive player but will also put him at risk (whether to sacrifice all the parent lava hound or not). It's more thrilling when the user have that kind of control, just like on those hero units.
I'm thinking of a self destruct button on the lava hound placeholder unit below after all lava hounds are deployed on the battlefield. O.o

yes.. loons are also slow so when you are using lava hound loons combo and your lava hound didn't explode it would be like watching a slow mo scene especially if you have used all the rage spells.. O.oQuote:

Normally Id support the idea but currently hounds are sooo OP that anything making them better I am not in favor of. If stats of the hound are nerfed then we can talk
