I'm not quite sure on the logic for this one. Ranks 1-3 on the drill you get at TH7. 4-6 you get at TH9. Yes you get a second drill at 8 and a third at 10, but shouldn't there be at least one upgrade at 8?
Not a huge deal but maybe something to look at.
It would certainly make dropping to farm TH8's more lucrative.
Looking solely at the costs of the upgrades for the barbarian king, minions, and hog riders, plus the amount of time you spend at TH8 compared to TH7, I'd say it's just fine as it is. Level 4 might help with the valkyrie and golem upgrades, but the DE available for farming is so much better at TH8 than it was at TH7. Still don't see this being necessary.Quote:

I'm a mid-TH8 right now, still have a couple months probably, so I'd love the level 4 drill. But honestly, there are so many things I would rather Supercell did first, that this just isn't a priority for me.
On second thought, there would be one nice benefit to this. It would give TH8's another 6M elixir to spend. I mean, it's a drop in the bucket compared to how much elixir a typical TH8 will waste before going up to TH9, but every little bit helps.
Not saying that I support it, but I think this is an easy way to shift elixir costs to TH8, that won't upset game balance much. It will mostly be a factor for research that costs more than the raidable cap (33.3k for a TH8). That's the level 9 and 10 barbarian king upgrades, level 4 hogs, and valks and golems to level 2. Level 4 drills will make those a little easier, but they'll still take some work. If you're getting raided for the cap (2k) twice a day, you're going to fall behind, even with level 4 drills. It's not going to make it possible to buy your research upgrades on drill output alone, unless you manage to get TH snipes most of the time. Which is only going to happen if you're farming where the loot is bad, even the gold/elixir loot.

I honestly thought TH7s were only able to get their drill to lv2 lol. I would like the level 4 drill for myself, but that's all the more DE that TH9s will attack me for.
TH7 used to not get a drill and TH8 got 1 that went to level 3, and even with 1, you could get most of your BK and DE upgrades done before finishing your defenses, and certainly before finishing walls. Now that you have 2 that should be no problem at all so I don't see why you need another level of drill. I wouldn't mind though, as others have said, I'd get more out of hitting TH8s.
The bigger issue though is the amount of DE that TH9s have to spend. If you want to talk about tweaking drills, give TH9 the third one. Maybe only let them go to 5 though, and save the level 6 upgrade for TH10 (or give them a level 7)
