Directing the troops
You have necessary soldiers to win an attack but you lose it because your troops are complete morons who have no idea to move in the desired and logical direction. Especially the king, the queen and the dragon. I send the king to destroy an air defense but he is too busy taking down the builder's hut or an army camp outside of the walls. He takes long walks outside of the wall. Meantime he is attacked by the defense buildings and without even getting inside of the walls he dies. While something shoots you, you don't deal with some other harmless thing. You directly aim at it. But coc's remarkable troops enjoys getting shoot. They love to be killed, born to die. Losing an attack just because my troops don't know which way to go is really annoying me. Obviously one should be able to direct the troops and aim a target. That shouldn't be so hard.

Too OP
This thread is more of a rant than an actual idea.
In my opinion, troops are fine as they are, whuch makes the game fun to play. Making attack easier will make the game more boring.
This would also lead into gamebreaking because this would potentially make a 3-star attack WAY MORE easier. This would also lead to loot, drying up.

You do understand that you have to actually plan so that the king will go the right way? To use troops efficiently you need to understand the ai. Clear a decent amount of outer buildings, or yes, your bk will go around.

You have to learn how to deploy the troops in a manner in which they take out the desired structures.
If you drop your king and there is a hut then he will take out the hut and then the next closest structure and so on. If you want him to break through the wall and enter the base you have to clear all structures on the outside that would draw him away from your intended target.
You have to use strategy to achieve your desired result.
