Let's just admit it. That's what people want, a way to plan and see how things work. Instead of letting just game modders use thier sandbox cracked programs, even things out a bit and give everyone access to roughly the samething.

Instead of have it run as a full battle, could be a stylized miniature battle that runs in 'turns', pausing every so often so you can look at how things would likely go.at each stage. Would have it's own graphics, with minitures, and the landscape is either a map, or a wooden table.
That is exactly what i had in mind: A tabletop simulation with a pause option to see how its all going.
I intended to make this tool a bit more self focused, so you could see your own base weaknesses. To leave it a bit less over powered, when you are running the simulation on a enemy base, there are no traps, so in the simulation you could have won, but in the actual battle, your troops would be devastated by a large bomb, or a tesla.
