Nope, that you're setting up your base wrong or in the wrong league whatever it is. I Lose up to about 300 a week to lightning and I either don't notice it, because it's nothing, or I smash their base for more DE, which is profit. Try it
I cant remember when the last time i got lightning on my DE. im at 35k in DE, im saving to finish hound which will be my final DE upgrade as a TH9 yet i still dont get zapped.

Several things to mitigate losses to zappers....
Surround your tank with buildings. They will absorb some damage, and save you a dribble or two of DE... just like a lightning rod, which the cry babies are always requesting.
Max your DE tank.. Lose less per zap...
Put your TH outside, in a league position where snipes are more likely... ( achievement hunter ranges, generally g1/c3 or c1/m3 are good spots), you will often get sniped and zapped, but at least your loot is now safe, think of it as a zap tax for a cheap shield.
You also have the revenge option... This is hit and miss due to the above mentioned TH snipers, who do so much to protect farmers loot, and they keep me pretty safe, but always worth a look.
Now bicth and whine about it a bit more, until you feel better, and go smack a lower TH for whatever dribble you lost, and get on with the game... it is about stealing loot afterall....
If it still upsets you when you lose loot, there are plenty of other games out there, I'd suggest something with flying unicorns, and glittery ponies...
Dude - did you remember to turn on the 'No Lightening Spells' option in settings?
Not a lot of people seem to know about this option, and continue to get zapped.
Unfortunately it also means you can't use spells, but I'm sure you would never do that yourself anyway.

this is still fine against archer queen looting your DE. She sucks it hard ...
I wish they would zap me... Instead of bringing lvl6 Giants, lvl6 archers and archer queen to steal 1-1.5k...

To the guy that just zapped me and ran, I feel your pain of trying to get some DE ..... but you didn't see I had a Full Drag army ready for war and instead of taking an early attack, I hit revenge and you had logged off. So you got 402 DE from your zap and 2,315 Elix from the near by Storage ... I want to thank you for the 235,680 Gold, 247,920 elixir and 890 DE I got in return. Yes I need to spend 360K retrain the drags but that's ok, I'm swimming in elixir right now.
See, Game mechanics at work. I have zapped, been zapped, been revenged for zapping and revenged other zappers. All is fair in clash and war. There are no rules and honor among thieves.
I agree, zapping is total ♥♥♥♥♥ move, learn how to attack, period.

Well you may or may not have invited a s***show. But in all seriousness, they did acknoledge the fact that zapping is broken. They keep it because it wouldn't be worth it in their eyes to find a solution and rebalance the game after they input that solution. In addition, it's my understanding that keeping it is their half baked way of giving low leveled players a way to strike back at higher leveled players that camp out in low leagues and exploit them; and to me that's been the much bigger annoyance (at least as a new th8). I think we can agree that this particular mechanic won't be fixed anytime soon and therefore, neither will zapping, despite how much it is abused.Quote:

The spell is doing its job, wether you like it or not. It is supposed to damage troops and buildings in a small area. Damage to resource buildings means lost loot.
When DE came along SC realised that lightning alone could take too much DE, so increased the hp of the DE tank, thus reducing the amount lost to zaps.
The broken game mechanic is cheap shielding. Leaving your TH outside to get a cheap shield is abused by farmers and zappers alike.
Until you get a fix on that, revenge will continue to be a hit and miss affair, no matter what you are trying to revenge someone, for.
Trouble with the forum these days is that there are so many cry babies, welling up with tears, and having tantrums, because someone stole some loot from them, in a looting game.

It depends on luck in all honesty. This one guy was literally online for 2 hours when I tried to revenge him. I'd train up my farming army and went for a couple of raids, checking in on him in between each one and he was still online. Eventually he finally got off but someone beat me to the punch.Quote:
