I'm in Crystal II ,but I get wrecked every other attack. I can't stand searching for 30 minutes just to find one TH to snipe. I'm a TH8 ,and I need to get 25k DE to upgrade my Hogs. I don't care for losing elixir I have 4 mil that I'll spend freely ,but I hate waiting for armies to be ready. Any useful advice or a link to a guide?
The most efficient way to loot is to BAM (barbs, archers and minions) full army every 13 minutes... Take a look at this:

your a townhall 8 why are you in crystal 2? just go down to gold 3 and barch farm. use lightning spells if you have spare elixer to spare

I would say yea, g1 to c3 would be ideal, c2 or c1 has hard bases. Look for collector raids, follow the guide I sent you.
The bonus of crystal league is good. You can try to 50% the base by clearing outside buildings.
Quickest way to get DE? Gem it.
Zap it with lightning spell, it only take 1 second to release the spell, very very quick

I farm dark elixir without even thinking about it or focusing on it. I spend my time fluctuating trophies in Silver 1 and can make 6k DE a day, not even playing that much.
Wow, I recommend to drop down to G3 - C3. Believe it or not, even S3 has tons of dark elixir bases with a quite a good amount of money. G3 - C3 is ideal.
drop to g2-g1. just raid with a bam army and hit bases with storages outside or behind a layer of walls. Try to avoid centered storages as those are difficult to raid with bam.
I have used lightning on storages then switched to 2 rage 1 heal (Then i switched to 3 rage). Lightning is EXTREMELY inefficient way to get DE. 3 lightning on a storage will net you a little over 1k. I find storages behind a layer of walls and a lot of times I won't even need a rage to get to it. I hit a minimum of 800 de and if there is a decent 1500 storage that is harder to hit I'll rage it. Don't be afraid to lose trophies.
As a TH8 I used to cook two storage raiding armies a day, once before bed and once at work, so that I could raid once in the morning and once after work. Those armies were either massed dragons or WiPe. With those armies I usually targeted 2.5K+ DE per raid.
When I had enough time to play in sessions I would barch with 5 wall breakers with 1 heal and 2 rage, I would target bases that had at least 1-1.5k DE with storages that were within the first 2 layers and the of course full drills too.
Farming this way I maxed all my dark troops and BK at TH8 without any downtime for the lab as well as maxed the storage before the TH9 finished upgrading, this was before TH8 got the second drill. I farmed at around G1-C3 always with TH out. I think I averaged 2.5 hours of farming time per weekday since I would farm in sessions during my commute to and from work.
With regards to the storage raiding armies, please note this was before the skeleton traps were introduced, so I am not too sure how reliable those armies are post skeleton traps.
The quickest way is to buy with real money.
I'd say go Gold1/ crystal league. There is enough DE to find over there.
I appreciate the advice I'm finding that C3 is the best for me. I made 15k DE yesterday and need to get another 15k by the end of today for to start on level 3 hogs. Currently sitting on 23k DE ,so its been working. My current strategy is to barch the DE from drills and collectors that are in the first layers. I've also been sniping any TH's I can.
The quickest way to get Dark Elixir is to buy gems and then buy Dark Elixir with the gems.
You're way too high in trophies. Drop to Gold 2/1, and just use barch with lightning spells.Quote:

If you don't wanna boost, i reccomend BAM, although your gains will be slower.
Why are you in Crystal? Come down to gold III. I'm a th8. And I'm at 38,000 DE because of it. I get it from wars and also farming in gold III. I use dragons because archers/barbs/giants/wb don't work to get DE because de is heavily protected. So I use dragons. Very helpful :) I get above 1k each raid.

Get down to gold league. Simply barch or gibarch any th7 with good de or a th8 with bad de protection.
Collector raids are also good way to make profits
Use Gibarch in crystal II and above, or zap de with lightning spells.
