Is it just me or are valks the most underrated troop in the game?
I run a clan that is 100% Valkyrie users.
Wrote a probably 50 page guide on their use.
Blah Blah Blah.
And yes, they are very underrated. Currently my main recruits for the permanent crew in \/alahalla has been Th8 because they haven't developed a negative opinion yet.
OR they are in an established warring clan and maybe even heard of us but aren't available to recruit
they are great as clan war defence for lower TH bases.Quote:

Valks are great for defense in lower level town hall castle.
Valk are very underrated in my opinion also, I use Gowiva in war I feel it is a stronger attack than Gowipe ;) I am a mid th8 btw

Valks are my favorite troop by far. Valk Tornado is a great strategy for power attacks. There is a bit of a learning curve with Valks, but they are a rewarding troop to use.

Valks r beast! They completely shred large base cores. I'm currently in \/alhalla(king7777) and it's awesome!

Valks are hero killers and destroy cc troops pretty efficiently. Watch some of our \/alhalla vids on Youtube or read our strategy guides in the forums.
P.S - Daddy wouldn't have visited our clan 3 times and made videos about us if Valks are useless and we are an all Valk clan :smirk:
I'm not too fond of them, not because they suck, but I've never got the hang of them yet. Some of my clan mates are good with them however, so I've seen in replays what they are capable of. I'm planning on practicing with them and upgrading them once my main troops are where I want them to be. I have seen them a few times in cc when I'm hatching and I absolutely dread them when I'm farming.

Almost every base can be 3 starred at TH9 with some variation of Hogs and loons, (Gowihog, Lavaloonian, Holowiwi, GoHo, etc). Valks on the otherhand, is probably often going to be bringing more 2 stars than 3s, and there are many comps at TH9+ capable of the 2 star. Prioritizing valks over other DE core essential troops (golems, hogs, witches, hounds, etc) is a bit of a waste IMO, but to each their own. Nothing wrong with having a little bit of fun with an underrated troop.
Some cool videos though and keep up the good work. I'm sure many will find this useful though I for one have never really been a firm advocate of using valks.
Preface: My valks are only level 1.
Thoughts: I plan to upgrade them, but not as a priority. (Current DE troops not maxed: minions, hogs, valks, golems.)
I find them too quick. Now this could just be me having bad timing, but they tend to go ahead of the tanks and get wrecked. They are also slow in attack speed, because of this, it seems like it takes them FOREVER to get through a wall. So often they can get to a core if you're using wbs/jump spells, etc, but then they can't get out. And outer layer point defenses just shred them. (Now I know you can combat that by bringing two jumps, but why? )
Where I find them useful:
Killing enemy CC troops. Everyone has seen it. Bunch them up and drop the redhead. It works really well and a good use of troop space imo.
Defensive CC troop. Everyone has seen them used at lower levels, BUT, they are amazing at th9/10 defense as well. Put them in conjunction with witches/wizards the valk flies ahead and tanks for the skellies and wizards it's great.
Now I've been in more than a few valk arguments over the last year. Perhaps once I have them upgraded I will gain some more appreciation for them, but until then, they remain a specialty troop, only used in certain situations. Not really a core member of any army.
The main problem is the huge cost increase when upgrading them. You have to decide if you want to use them for farming at lvl1 or for clan wars at lvl4.
I am th10 so I will use them for farming and go for pekkas lvl5 instead but on my th9 account where I am not farming much any more I am upgrading them to lvl4 because when you look at he stats they are stronger than Pekkas lvl3.
The only problem I have with both valks and Pekkas is that they only are good for bashing the th but fail at destroying the middle layer where the air defense for a GoWiLoon is located so it will end up in a 2 star but maybe they can get those bases with all air defenses inside but many giant bomb location on the way in.
As TH9, if you get matched against th10 in wars, many bases cry out to be wrecked by valks... admittedly they were the last troop i researched, but max valks destroy compact cores that have multi target infernos, and often come out the otherside of the base.......:cool: (take wbs and jump spell - they suck at demolishing walls)

Very underrated. Tanky mini pekkas with more movement speed and aoe splash damage? Yes please.
Some are 3 star strategies that work on max th9 bases. Govape can 3 star th10 bases (not all, bc what strategy works on every base?):

Govape
Valkyries are also great for cc lure, I love using 1 valkyrie to kill the whole cc (lure into a group and all ground troops are dead with one swing).
When I max valkyries on my TH10 I want to try to figure out how to make hova a 3 star strategy on TH10 =]

Valk is the 3rd ground tanker in the game. Gies hand in hand with most of the tanker where you would want to tank your wiz to demolish a base.
Ever see your wizards run ahead of your golem or pekka and just died? Valk run ahead of wizards, so the wizard still safe to zap any building nearby. And valk also great in demolishing structures rather quickly with their ability to smash multiple structure at once.
They are most underrated troops, yes. But it was also because of that, people tend to make anti GoWiPe/GoWiWi bases, only to be crushed by valk user. And Valk is EASY to direct than Pekka. 99% all the time with GoWiPe? Try add some valk, and see the difference.
Finally got my max Valks today and I tested them out in war. Generally only attack max Th9s so for people who said they only 3 star weak bases its not true. You do needs specific bases to make use of them though

I would love to be able to use Valkyries in my clan wars. I realy want to use her, but i dont dare to since everyone is saying she is so bad. :(
valks are very useful when you just complete TH upgrade and needs to save lots of elixir to upgrades camps.
