This is all revolving around attacking your own base for fun. Not other peoples bases!
How to test a base:
1. Make the base
2. Turn off device
3. Patiently wait until you are attacked
4. Review the replay
Don't get me wrong, I really could care less about this idea, devil's advocate though, the "exploit" people are talking about is pretty ridiculous.
The ONLY way this exploit will work is if you have the same town hall as the base you are attacking, the same level walls, level defenses, same troops in clan castle, same level BQ/AQ, same level defenses, same level buildings, drills, storage's etc.
First of all, lets say someone, a very vengeful individual, really wants to three star a base and, the 1/1,000,000,000 chance that they have the exact same base composition, the exploit for war would be, to recreate the exact base, recreate the troops they want to use (in war, assuming 150-200k elixir not using spells) and are going to try different strategies multiple times (ridiculous amounts of elixir) just to three star a base... That isn't an exploit, it is an idiot.
Now if it is for revenge and someone is going to barch a base. Lets say the drill is a level higher than the one in the base they "recreated". This is going to take the army extra time to kill (while other troops are killing other things, their troops are getting killed standing there shooting or swinging at the building). This small change can completely change where troops go and how the AI works. Maybe more troops go to help the building that you killed faster in your "test", maybe you have less troops going to the next building, then it takes longer, troops re calibrate what they attack. It snowballs from there.
But yeah, I don't care to have it, but lets not say this is an easy exploit when their are bots and other things that really ruin the game.
still even if they increase the cost theres 2 problems
1- max players will still use this at wars or revenges since they have ful loot and attack max bases
2- its point less as u cant know if u r as skilled as others because they might be tricky
The fact that everything needs to match exactly is wrong. Most war attacks I do walls don't matter. Hogs do most of the heavy lifting might be a jump spell or at most 2/3 wallbreakers. if defenses are a level off its not a huge deal you can still practice see the pathing, determine exact spot for spells.
Your example of a dark elixir drill the hp goes from 800 at lvl1 to 1100 at lvl3 (usually your levels will be closer then this) so it will take a wizard an extra 2 shots or 3 seconds usually not going to change the whole raid.
Even if the levels aren't exactly the same it still is great for learning from. If I had the chance within the rules of the game you can bet that I would duplicate my opponents base and do a trial run. Elixir is easy to come by, stars in war you only get one chance.
A good way to prevent the possibility of repeatedly attacking a base to perfect a strategy is to allow 1 practice attack a day for testing purposes on your base. 1 attempt by no means would allow the creation of a perfect plan for a 24 hour battle day nor would 2 attempts in 48 hours (clan war prep and battle day) create the perfect strategy especially if someone changes their base. By forcing a 1 test attack a day limit you would discourage people from using it on something that may not teach them anything at all. Plus even if someone tries to make an exact copy of a base they do not know trap whereabouts nor tesla placement unless it is extremely projected. So I think making a one test attack a day limit would allow people to test their bases but also prevent multiple practice attempts at a base.
