Hi Everyone!
Town Hall 8 here and just got Pekkas! I was wondering if there was a GoWipe strategy that doesn't use Golems as I don't have them unlocked yet. I have a few players in my clan who use GoWipe and they aren't much help, they just tell me to wait for Golems. Is it worth it to wait for golems or could I use some Giants instead of Golems? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!:thumbsup:
It's a common strategy to replace golems with giants in a "GiWiPe" army. This could work at TH8 effectively, but I'd bring a heal spell or two, because they definitely won't last as long.
a th8 it's not that bad.. GiWipe is a viable alternative, but probably you won't get 3 stars. Anyhow, I'll wait until PEKKA lv 3 before trying gowipe. while waiting, you can also start your Dark rax upgrade for golems

Wait for Golems if you plan on GoWipe.
If you are talking about Clan Wars, I would just use dragons and save the dark elixir to max out your Barb King.
You should be able to dragon like nearly all of the TH8 bases if you know how to funnel your troops properly.

Use 8~10 giants and 2 healers to replace one of the golems. Unluckily you won't have enough housing space to bring another group of giants and healers, so you'll have to work with only one group.
The giants+healers are used similar to a golem in GoWiPe, but the giants can actually break thru walls and kill some defenses, but you'll need to avoid ADs. Luckily ADs are usually buried deep in the core, which means you can attack outside defenses with the giants without worry.
As usual drop some wiz behind the giants to clear buildings. This will prevent Pekkas getting deviated to that side. On the other side you'll need to be a bit more creative. Maybe snipe a building or two with some archers or minions, or use BK. Anything as long as you can ensure Pekkas won't circle around that side of the base.
Now you have funneled Pekkas in a similar way as GoWiPe but without using any golems. :cool:

Giants are vulnerable against traps, i really wouldnt count on them.
Use drags until you unlock them.
Couple wars ago we had a clan that successfully used a "wipe" against a number of our mid level th8s.
Can't remember the army comp exactly but it was pekkas, wizards and wallbreakers. pekkas were the tanks and wizards damage in behind. I think this army takes more talent to steer the pekkas but it seemed to work I think they were using 2 heal, 1 rage.
If the base will funnel the giants to a spring trap then mixing in a few barbs or a hog helps. The barbs/hog are faster than the giants and will trigger the trap before the giants get inside it's effect radius. This results in the spring trap only killing a few barbs or one hog, instead of 3 giants.Quote:
