I just accidentally spent 5 diamonds on getting my boat early. I did not mean to and it did this even though I have the double tap to confirm enabled. My mom also had this issue. Help

This happens to me too sometimes. I've seen where I've inadvertently hit the button once merely by lightly moving my finger over the button (its very big on an iphone 5), most of the time when i'm 'swiping' to start an action and don't have the ingredients, but it also happens when i've tried to get rid of the button screen and my fat finger has apparently hit the screen too close to the huge button.
It is not a bug actually. The double tap confirmation does not work everywhere. Anything that has a pop-up of some sort (like the boat does when you tap on the dock) will not have a double tap, so you still have to be really careful.

Well, you see, there's mine deactivation for a lot of the mines but not all of them. What you're not informed of... unless you hunt down the information online ... is there are quite a few exceptions to the mine deactivation setting. Mines next to purple bushes, mines decorated with glitter, and mines that weigh less than a gnome's hat are not deactivated, even though you've tapped the proffered deactivation button.
That's how Hay Day's double tap confirmation setting trolls its players. :p
