Harder than it sounds?

Must be a reason these derbies have to run back to back, but sure would be good to know why? Those who play leagues for sports play weekly ones all the time and they typically end on Sunday after the last game, and then lock again on Monday with the first games. Cannot understand why that logic couldn't be used here? You end at a given time and start the next one 24 hours later and if someone wants their prizes they collect them during that 24 hours or lose them. That would be a whole lot better than the past three week fiasco.
