They cost the same so I'm at a dilemma on what to chose. I'm much better at golem based attacks, so thats tempting, but maybe hounds at 2 is what I need to become better at lavaloon. Any thoughts?

Hounds...that'll make your LaLoons much better and you can always get a CC golem for tanking into the AD(s) and AQ
The difference between level 1 and level 2 hounds is substantial.
The difference between level 1 and level 2 golems is slight.
You really can't launch a good lavaloonion attack with level 1 hounds...
But GoWiPe is practically the same with both levels.

You get 2 more pups with a level 2 hound, but the golemites also get increased stats.
I think the answer is - upgrade the one you use more/want to use more.
Hounds to 2 because your lavaloon attack Will be much better.
Do you war often? Do you want to 3 star bases easily? Get hounds to lvl 2.
Well it seems like the majority says hounds, so that's what I'll do. Plus, they do seem like a better deal now that I think about it.

My vote to hounds.
With lvl6 baloons and lvl2 hounds you can 3 star maxed th9s.
What can you do with lvl2 golems? You can get barely one star on a th9 :p
