I hope they don't warn people. I really love running into premature town halls and punishing them. This game might be less fun without them! 😜

That would be awesome ^^
No one wants to assume anything malicious is going on (well, some do ;) ), but it has been brought up several times in the past and just continues to be one of those blaring issues that is relatively easy to get people behind because of the number of people posting about their premature TH upgrading woes.
Members of the forum at times can be pretty elitist and callous in their attitudes towards such people, but the fact remains that preemies all come back with the same story: "I didn't know, and had I known, I wouldn't have upgraded."
If the info was provided in-game, then we can rightly point out their ignorance. That's not the case.
Anyway, thanks for the response and hope we see some kind of action on this issue.

Here's the link once more. Bet you wish you read this earlier:

I appreciate your involvement, and would also very much like to see this implemented. But to say that doing it is a bad idea because people wouldn't read it is very specious. You'd never know unless it was done, and at least you'd have "we told you so" to fall back on if there were continued complaints. Surely that's better than nothing, which is what you have now.
Steve, this is probably one of the most important things that you could do to make certain customers happy. There are thousands of bases that are just a TH 9 or 10 with lvl 1 walls and harldly any defenses who have basically screwed up their games and watsted their money. Sure, not everyone would heed the warning, but that's no excuse for not having a warning at all.
This goes to the point I was trying to make about faulting people for their ignorance, which not knowing about looting penalties does not, since that knowledge can pretty much only be found on the forum or though word-of-mouth.
My suggestion would be for the warning to come up when you go to upgrade your TH, or upon confirming your upgrade. A simple message saying that there are looting penalties for higher level THs and that more information on the looting percentages can be found at an official SC website or on the forums.
I'd like to point out that all the info we have on looting percentages have come from hardworking and dedicated members of the CoC community (to my knowledge), and not from SC directly. We are going to figure it out eventually, so why not just eliminate the guesswork and release that info when changes are being implemented?
Anywho, can I strongly recommend not adding this info to the tips that pop up when the game is loading. This really ought to be in big bold red letters alerting people of the necessity to think long and hard before rushing to TH8,9,10.
Based on previous experience, "I can't promise anything..." seems to mean, "Forget it; not happening!" But really, what makes the loot penalty different from all the other pop-ups and information panels SC has implemented?
Someone at SC clearly thinks players read things in game. They've invested development resources on that assumption. The only difference here is that the loot penalty is orders of magnitude more meaningful than most if the, "Walls will slow down your enemies!" and, "Enemies will try to destroy your town hall!" spam that has already been implemented. Here's an opportunity to prevent heartbreak for a large portion of your new playerbase. What's the downside to add information for this case as has already been done in so many other cases?
I agree complete. I wish sc warned us first about this... but oh well nothing we can do about it now.
