TH loot penalty should be made known within the game

How many of you upgraded your TH, not knowing that there was a loot penalty?

I surely did, back in December I upgraded to TH9 under the advise of another clueless clan member, because he said the X-Bow was worth it. My defenses were only TH7 level at best, with mostly pink walls. Here I am, over 5 months and still at TH9. It was quite a struggle to farm at that time, and I still have another 3 months+ to go before TH10.

If the TH loot penalty was made known to me from within the game (TH info screen? a 1 line message at the game load screen?), then I definitely would have looked into it first.

A very very small percentage of the CoC players actually visit the forum, and even if you do you must be lucky enough to stumble across a post about it.

Wrong sub forum(ideas) but i agree completely! There have been numerous threads about it! But i suppose a good percent of supercell s profit is desperate premature TH9ers trying to save themselves :p not trying to blame them, they DO use this money to build better updates. Also, premature THers are where all the loot comes from! ;)

Yeah it was something i learned by accident as well.

I didn't go to hard on the TH upgrade but i wish i'd stayed at L7 a little longer. At L8 now and its heaps harder to find good resources.

Some of the guys in my clan are upgrading TH way too fast and i've been trying to warn them of this loot penalty and most are unaware.:confused:

I posted in this section to find out just how many people upgraded too fast.
There's no point posting this in the ideas forum, i'm sure SC are well aware of what's happening, as I guess they intentionally want people to upgrade their TH too fast (so they will have to gem more to make up for their mistake).

Yes, as a clan leader i'm constantly warning people against upgrading TH before their village is maxed.

I agree that the only way to know is word of mouth in clan or stumbling onto it here by accident. I'm a clan leader as well who alwayz tellz new memberz to heed the handicap.
Though itz been a long time since I read the statz, not only do I not know them in exact numberz anymore..but I'm also wondering what the new lv10 townhall is on the lv9. and if that changed all levels to balance out.

Can someone please post them again here? I'll make sure to copy n paste them into my clan forum this time I promise :)

That is definitely needed in this game. A warning before you upgrade or just a Hey don't do that or else:mad:

But in a serious note why don't they:( i would've been a TH 9 if i didn't find the forums

And even then (with so many people voicing opinions) it's hard to know that the advice given is indeed sound advice.

In a game where so many elements can be upgraded, a town hall upgrade can appear to be just another upgrade amongst many others, especially to a new player to the game. It is another upgrade, yes, but it's not merely just another upgrade, as the implications of townhall upgrades are more significant than others.

The unintuitive nature of being able to discern the importance of not upgrading prematurely does (in my opinion) warrant a general and conspicuous warning.

Approve this message too but I ould also like if there was a load screen announcement informing people of the forums and how people can get useful tips and strategies over here.
