Agreed. But picture how it would work if we had that feature and then they added this...http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...-Automatically
You would set things up each war and be sure to be done before final hour and then just flow right into your next one with no lag.
I completely agree with this thread suggestion. I also suggested the same things a while ago here:
http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...s-to-stick-reg
Had to chuckle how closely we worded the title.
OMG, there it is. I went looking for your thread to add to a post someone had put up and after not finding it I figured I must be having a senior moment thinking I was imagining having read that before. And then thinking that there did need to be such a thing I put one up.
This time I have saved off the link to your and am going to add it to posts in lieu of mine. yours has collected more support and commentary so I would prefer we stuck with it as being the stronger representative and let this one die.
Please no one support my thread here any more. Instead go to the one gamul1 references and add your support there. We do more to bring this idea forward by sticking together on just the one.
I would hate to see this thread die. You worded your request eloquently and gained support. The two threads together compliment each other.
Personally I would be happy if a mod could merge my thread into this thread. You are a well respected member of the community and I like to think Super Cell would take notice of a well supported thread of yours before one of mine.
Top of the morning to you. I'm drinking a shot of espresso in your honor. :D
Ah go on you twisted my arm if it was an optional feature then there should be no cause for complaint,
Clan wars is a form of membership for those who meet the right criteria and this feature helps establish that - IMO
I am all about choice. A lot of decisions whether or not I wanted to support a thread is usually based on that.
- if a guy suggested something automated so that the game runs his clan for him the way he wants I am almost always against that (even if it would run the clan the way I want too) because that is forcing all clans to operate that way.
- But if they want to implement things in a way that allows each clan to decide for them selves how to use it if at all so that they are free to administrate their clan however they choose then I favor that.
In general it tends to play out that number 1 is usually a crutch for bad leaders where number 2 tends to be a tool good leaders can use to be even more effective.
That belief in choice is also why I will go ahead and support a thread on the basis of 'I think this is stupid and wouldn't use it, but it doesn't hurt anything either so if it makes someone else happy...". But also that is only my opinion from the point of view of a guy that does not need to do the analysis/design/development/testing to make it so. For those guys if they think its stupid and many wouldn't use it they might decide not to do it even if it is still harmless.
aye i know that, just wanted to make clear my stance, I think after re-reading the thread more carefully (sorry thats my dislexia kicking in) the optional thing shines through. I guess it's over to the devs whether it is more hassle or worthy etc. The only thing that can be said is number 2 could be open to abuse by some of the horrible number 1 leaders - but at least we still have the option to clan hop or not :smirk:
Great idea, I support it!
My problem is that people tell us they want to be in/out but they don't go click their own button! I have one member who has himself listed as "out" for the last 2 weeks - we keep telling him to go change it but he isn't changing it.
Another problem - we are a 2 war per week clan, but sometimes we do a weekend war. We ask people in the chat if they want to be in the weekend war to go opt in/out, but instead all they do is respond in the chat and don't go change their button. Then we have to scroll through the whole chat and find everyone's responses when starting the war.
We've considered just starting wars strictly based on the opt in/out buttons and ignoring people who tell us in/out without changing their buttons, i.e. teach everyone a lesson, but we don't want to lose a war because of it.
