Leaders opt in/out selections should be any time and should stick

The selections the leader makes to the opt in/out sections should stick. (Those that say this is too much power should remember that the leader has the power to kick anyhow, this is just a gentler way) What would happen is if a leader opts someone from in to out the persons button on their info page should also change. Likewise, in the rare case where a leader opts someone in that is out (although usually not a good idea without some communication or agreement from the player) that also changes. Players can still go reset the option themselves at any time too.

Furthermore the leader should have access to that pageat any time even during war (if they change it and exit the options stick) so that they can at any time after a given war starts be lining their clan for the next war.

If they did this the leaders of constant war clans can use the time during a given war to make sure things are set for the next one. That allows them to start the search for the next one immediately within seconds of the first one ending and minimize the amount of schedule creep they experience.

This also would allow prepare the game for being able to add a constant war moe feature (see link below). In fact, for that feature to ever be possible a leader would absolutely have to be able to have all war selections already lined up in place probably an hour or more (whatever cut off time they established) before the current war ended.

Here is the link to the 'constant war mode idea' alluded to above. I personally would love to be able to turn something like this on and would not mind (as long as I was given the tools as outlined above) the added responsibility of having it all lined up in time.

Yes!

Every war, I have to override a number of bad default opt-ins. It is tiresome to have to do it repeatedly. It is tedious to have to explain it all to co-leaders in case one of them starts the war.

Part of why I want it is w have a member that has been in a bad accident and has to be offline for a bit. We certainly aren't going to kick him for that. And I certainly am not gong to bother his family who has been through a bad scare and still under strain to go log into his COC account and change his setting.

I also really loved the 'constant war' idea and this is a separate thing that would help it become possible, or this would also be good on its own.

This would be awesome. As leader of my clan, it would be much easier. I like everyone to opt out before war and tell people to opt in if they want to war.

This would help you because you can just go right down the page to opt them all out right after a war starts (or whenever you wanted to do it) and tell them to opt in before next war.

And its better to do it this way because then clans that don't want everyone automatically opted out (mine for instance) don't have that happen to them.

Yes. Be careful, we don't want SC to go for auto-opt-out everyone.

I would not want to opt out the reliable regular core group. Some in the core group pretty much only log in for the wars. I suspect they have day jobs. I just want to opt-out the ring ins, the ones who only turned up late, or who didn't prepare a good army or strategy, and especially a normal regularly who has gone silent.

This is a widely suggested idea that I have no trouble supporting. I think Supercell had two things in mind when they made opt in the default.

1)They want as much participation (so that it's clan wars and not part-of-the-clan wars) as they could get into clan wars. This was one "obstacle" when we were all trying to get opting implemented, as this might be a way for Supercell to keep the participation as high as possible.

2)They may have not considered opting out to be default. You came up with/put together an elaborate two-tiered opting system that did mention a leader override. This might have mislead them to believe that the community wanted the leader opting to simply function as an override (due to the criticisms of leader-only opting).

Of course, in both I am assuming that all the opting requests were one of the major reasons they implemented it. It may have only been a minor reason as they could have been developing opting before the waves of opting requests.

No, he can opt out all because that is what he wants to do.

Others can do differently. The whole point of the way I am proposing it is so that each clan can do what works for them. No auto anything being forced on anyone.

I think you skimmed my post without really reading it before replying. Otherwise you would not have been arguing with it since it does agree with your position.

I just want to clarify that I am not suggesting making either the default.

This allows each clan to handle the process how they want. a leader that does want to opt all out for them to opt in can go right down the page and do that. A leader that wants them all in can do the same. A leader that does not want to touch it does not have to. Nothing is automatic or forced on anyone. I am opposed to all ideas the force any certain way of running a clan (whether I agree with it or not) on all clans.

Personally, in my clan I prefer to let my members handle it, and for the most part they do. But I have had a few situations pop up here (a guy forgot, another is incapacitated offline for a bit) and they are just enough that I cant just go from one war to the next without a little tweaking in between them. (which has to be eliminated for constant war mode to ever be possible)

This approach has not been oft suggested. I have been watching for others to suggest it so I could support as is my usual style here. But after a while I got tired of waiting so I wrote this up to start a thread.

Changing it to leader only (as I have seen some requests for) would be worse than the way we have it now. That I have been opposed to. I strongly feel that it needs to be a partnership.
