That would imply that everybody in the clan knows each other in real life, which I have been in a clan where people know each other, but not everybody knows each other in real life.
I still don't see why leaders need to have this ability. If you KNOW a clan member will be out for a week, tell them to change their war opt status (which FYI, two of my fellow co-leaders are gone for a week and I told them to opt out; they did.)
There is no need for a leader to have that much control over another person's account. Telling the person to change their war opt status works just fine.
It's easier to have a rule... You are responsible for your war status.... If you are going to be gone from the game then set it to opt out. If you leave it to opt in and miss a war, you get kicked...
Why does it matter? They can just change it every war.
What a stupid argument. If you don't set it the way your leader told you (and who cares if it was because you didn't want to or because you missed it in the feed) they should just kick you and be done with it.
Who wants someone in their clan that doesn't care to do what they were told and thinks they should have the ability to not comply with the leaders wishes. War is not about you. Its a team thing.
Of course, if they could just opt you out myself they might do that and give you a mulligan and a chance to get your team attitude back in order. So maybe give leaders enough control to be gentler than just kicking you is not such a bad thing.
This is just a bad idea. And don't argue that "oh, they might not be able to get online, but they can tell the leader to opt them out" because if you are online to attack in the current war, right as PREP day starts, you can then hit opt out and not have to worry about that for the next war after
