Coincidence or?

Do you ever wonder why when you need something real bad or you are out of it or you need to fill a boat order that you can't find it in the newspaper or when you do just before you click on it the items sells. A coincidence or is it set up that way by supercell to get you to buy diamonds?
I have been playing this game for almost a year now and it's always that way for me, my friends who play also notice the same thing.
And I thought this game was set up to help each other out, if that is so then why is it always dog eat dog to get something in the paper or activate bushes and trees, this should be called: Cut throat farming, not hayday, because that is basically what it is.
Just some thoughts on the game, I could add other issues but I will leave it at that for now.

I just think it is big coincidence :). I have experienced both sides. Items are nowhere to be found, but other times, I do find the item in the newspaper.

I find I regularly trawl the newspaper to pick up rare goodies. Best way to get things other than the regular wheat, eggs, crops etc.

There are some people who think it's a conspiracy.
And I too have noticed that if I happen to need one more blue wooly hat it's extremely difficult to find in the DD.

But I have tested this theory enough to be convinced that it's just random.
I have gone searching for something I don't have in stock but don't have any need of for an order. Gone searching for an item I DO have in stock.
And unless it's something really common like indigo, wheat, eggs etc, the chances that I will find it quickly are pretty low.

Things that I am used to seeing when I am not looking for them, like chili peppers, potatoes, violet dresses just seem harder to find when I start actively looking for them. Whether I actually need them for an order or not.

I think it's kinda like when you buy a new car and think it is really unique, and as soon as you sign the papers, you see half a dozen cars just like it all over. Or like when you have your first kid and you think of a totally unique and stunning name for her and the first day of kindergarten the teacher has to also use your last name because there are four kids with the same name as your kid. I really bet that the mom who named her kid Aquanetta, (in my daughters high school class) would be horified to know I met another girl with the same name in Chicago.

It's not a conspiracy but an illusion.

I did experience both sides of the story, it is a coincidence I believe, I don't think they have any input in this whatsoever.

That's what I was thinking. Keep in mind this was during the time of natural childbirth (the 70's) and one of the things they taught in the class was to have a focal point to consentrate on during the contractions. So I pictured a mom whose focal point was a can of hairspray.............

Yes the game is designed this way...you have played long enough to figure this out.

An awesome NH nullifies this which supercell hates....but they deal with. None the less....the programming dynamic still is real. Hence more you have...more you get from all EM.

if your low on something....townies will ask for it....and if you have something in excess....they rarely ask for it.

Programming is there for diamond spending....which I think very few(smart) people use in terms of instant stuff for HD.

HD isn't a giant grossing game and we all know why....nothing to lose and we can wait.....yet the dynamics for diamond spending are built in throughout the game....most find out quickly the waiting game is much easier and diamonds are spent wisely in other areas if you spent money to have them.

I don't think so. I think people tend to be upset by negative aspects of things more than they appreciate positive ones. Sometimes i do this myself too :) You might win a wool from the wheel of fortune but the next day you win the derby and get the four saws you desperately needed :)

DeFinitely coincidence

I used to think this was a deliberate ploy, but I now have farms on seperate devices so have access to other newspapers, and they are no more likely to have what I want.

A couple of weeks ago, all of a sudden it seemed every other visitor to my gift shop wanted a diamond ring and very quickly I was out of them.

I couldn't find any to purchase, so I had to keep sending gift shop visitors packing to the train. So I spent a diamond to make a ring in the jeweller.

I haven't had a single request for a diamond ring since. Not one. Weird!
