Neighborhood Reform
I'm curious, are there any other neighborhood leaders out there, where your not satisfied with your neighborhood? In particular, I feel as though I have some dead weight, meaning members that don't really contribute, nor chat, and are kind of just taking up space.
In the beginning, I couldn't get anyone to join my neighborhood, now it's full. The first few members to join were the best and are loyal, however, not having restrictions for joining, my neighborhood kind of just filled up with random members, that didn't exactly fit the criteria. I didn't as for much, just to be respectful, helpful, and sociable. Any advice or similar experience would be appreciated. Thanks.

My advice is to boot them.
When derby was introduced, I booted out the neighbours who never spoke, never helped people. They were just deadweight. I started a neighbourhood thread in the forums and asked for new and active members. I got some pretty fast.
Even before the derby, every so often, I booted members who never spoke at all in the nhood and were inactive, especially at times when friends from other websites wanted to join.

FurryButt, that's the same thing I'm thinking, but there's something keeping me from doing it...I don't know, I guess I just kind of feel bad. Any advice on this lol?

Before the derby, I just periodically went through the nhood and deleted people I knew I never saw. I never gave an explanation in the nhood or I sometimes said, deleting inactives. Enough said. I need no other justification.
After the derby, I just said only half of the nhood competed so after the next derby I will be booting people who are inactive. There went half the nhood after that. lol
I know the instinct is to be nice and not boot them, but they aren't around anyway. It is your nhood and I can tell you, with some of the new, active members, it is so much more fun and chat is more active too.
All in all, do yourself a favour. BOOT hehe

Wow, thank's a lot! I really appreciate the feedback, and your absolutely right. Curious about the derby though, how do I determine who's participating in it? On the first tab I can see the various member names and tasks they have in green; is that there completed tasks or there current tasks? Thanks again :-)

The tasks on the derby board are the current ones neighbours are doing.
To determine who was playing, I just took screenshots on the current derby tasks, showing their names. I did this regularly, as well as mentally noting who I saw participating.
Believe me, if someone doesn't participate at all, you eventually remember.

Thanks again friend, I appreciate your help:)

No worries mate. Glad to help :)
btw, I think your forum name is pretty cool :)

Thanks! Are you on the game center?

I would say to change to Invite Only. I joined my hood from a post in the forum. I was in one before that was open, and there was only a few that were active. If you recruit good people, you won't have to worry about booting people as much.
