So I hit TH9 on Friday and have realised that the awesome loot raids I was getting as a maxed TH8 were never going to continue as a newbie Th9. The question is, when will the good raids return? Will having 220 troops do the trick? Will leveling the Queen be the answer? Basically, I'm finding it tough to raid enough elixir to start my giants upgrade, if you guys have any tips to reassure me that it will get better, please lay them on me.......
Go up to Gold 2-1 and farm there with barch.
upgrade your army camps ASAP and upgrade your barch army to lvl 6.
also upgrade your heroes you will find nice amounts of DE in Gold 1.
I have two camps upgrading at present, again finding the 12mill combined for the barch upgrade is proving tough. Will definitely move up to gold 2, already at gold 3 so will continue rising.Quote:

I was often finding good loot around 1750 and honestly lvl5 barch was fine. Personally I did giants before barbs (still haven't done archers. I also did loons and hogs before giants (for war).
Plan on hitting th8 storages there are a bunch out there with max elixir (270k). The queen is a huge help getting this as are the giants once you get them.
The giants are going to be my first upgrade, followed by loons. My plan is to do one raiding troop then alternate with one war troop. I will just keep rising in cups and hopefully hit some sweet bases along the wayQuote:

I have had no luck farming in Crystal; maybe I just hit it at bad times. But I've usually been able to find pretty good farming somewhere in Gold. I got to TH9 about 7 weeks ago, and have done all my camps, CC, lab, spell factory, giants, balloons, hogs, and hounds upgrades, one dark barracks to 6 and one to 5, both DE drills to 6, DE storage to 5. Depends on how u play, if u love to sit down an just troll away for hrs getting loot just start saving elixir. If u have a life u might have to upgrade some defenses to keep ur lootQuote:

I appreciate the advice guys. I think once I've got my giants it will all go a lot better and then my serious looting can be trusted.
I didn't skip a beat from th8 to th9 I was in gold two I am currently in crystal but just for dark troops.
This is usually the bi-product being over reliant on farming off TH7's when you were TH8, just remember to farm off more TH9s and TH10s when you are close max TH9 otherwise you will experience the same loot shock when you get there.
Gold 1 has been my sweet spot for about a month now for dead bases with collector loot. I tried moving up to C3 but I just want having a lot of luck, and I made more DE in G1 even with the loot bonus at C3.
I dunno why everyone is saying to move to gold 1 or 2...im having success in gold 3....

I've spent nearly 3mths heavily upgrading TH9 and have spent nearly all of that time in Crystal 3 between 1900-2050. The loot bonus is nice especially with the DE, however, in the past week I accidentally dropped down to gold 1 and I have to say the bases here seem to mainly be TH8 and the loot is goooood. Definitely worth checking out.
I have always looted the ♥♥♥♥ out of sliver 1 and did worry that I was setting myself up for a fall, which has proven correct. However, I have been raiding in Gold 2 today and the de is nice, just getting used to storage raids rather than just collector raids. It is actually more satisfying testing a Base's defences and coming away with the loot. Finally managed to start the Queen level 2 research, well looking forward to her getting to level 5Quote:

Moving from TH8 TH9, recently, I have seen some invasions by TH10s that I have never encountered before, due to loot penalties not attracting any TH10s. I no longer could feast on high TH7s for the same reason, leaving me with TH8s and other early TH9s.
A senior member did a piece on rushing to TH9 quickly from TH8, I found it interesting but stuck with my beliefs regardless, and actually wish I had stayed in TH8 a bit longer.
With that said, anytime you move up to a new TH the first weeks are the most brutal. Just hang in there and loot like you never had. Having a Queen help, she has incredible range attacking far without drawing attention. Get her ASAP.

As a 5 days old th9, I find plenty of loot at 1880-1920 trophies.

I'm slowly rising up in gold 2 and the raids are getting better, just hit two consecutive raids for a total of 800k combined, a mix of dead bases and rushed Th's. Sooooo glad I maxed my th8. Ps my Queen is now level 2, just working on getting the de for her next levelQuote:
