Upgrade To TH9?

Ok I am not joking. Don't take my advice as nothing. I just got TH9 and I maxed almost everything. I got 90 skulls done and my dark troops weren't maxed. Also, my king was lvl 9. Anyhow, if you don't want your first week or so of TH9 to be crappy, then I suggest maxing everything. Minions lvl 4 would also be good because you get maxed loons at th9. So here's my message. Max EVERYTHING. There shouldn't be anything you can upgrade. Your farming experience may be horrible for the first 2 weeks so basically no upgrades. GOOD LUCK.

Most of my targets as a TH8 are abandoned TH8 bases which means at TH9 I'll only get a 10% loot deduction from what I am currently getting. Once I get lvl 6 giants, Ill be able to wreck Th8 bases and take their storages too. If I can save 40k dark before my town hall finishes, Ill have the archer queen as an addition to my army, which means even stronger offense. I am aware that the first few weeks of TH9 can be tough, but since TH7s aren't my primary target, I probably won't notice that much of a difference in farming.

Go ahead, better defense, and not much of a difference in loot.

Your walls are fine IMHO.. But you need to do more upgrades.. The Elixir costs and gold costs are ridiculous at TH9.. It' is really annoying having to go back and do the work you should have done..

Max all your basic troops first.. Why? Because it's easy..
Hogs to 4 before you jump to 9.. why? Hogs 4 + 1 golem + some other troops is one of the strongest TH8 attacks around.. Also use this time to get your minions up, because at TH9 your gonna switch to lavaloon, but you need to have strong troops to attack in case it doesn't work.. Once you hit th9 its an easy 1 upgrade to max the hogs(Believe me, max hogs are totally worth it)..

IMHO you got a little ways to go, but your almost there (I'm just a bit ahead of you on my TH8 account and I am not gonna make the jump yet.

Max the rage / heals too.. Elixir is so easy to farm at th9 s1-g1.. Just get it out of the way, you wont regret it.

You will find loot a little lesser regardless of maxing or rushing. If you're like the OP and have farmed in Gold2 for a while, then there is basically no difference in loot. You might have an issue in farming only if you stay perpetually in S1-G3 while in TH8

Actually it is easier to have some upgrades undone when you move up to TH9. Because some people might not be able to get used to the loot in TH9, so having a few 800k-2mil upgrades available will prevent idle builders in the transition phase of TH9.

What you're advising the OP is to wait another 1 month or so, wasting 20-100mil of earned and potential elixir, so that he is strong on DAY 1 of TH9? If he moved up now and did the EXACT same thing he would be doing as a TH8, then he will be at least 50 legos ahead if he were to max.

Of course he wouldn't do the exact as thing as in TH8, he would upgrade all his offenses using elixir and DE to queen. So by the time he finished his first month at TH9 (which is day 1 of TH9 if he maxed), he would have a lvl5-10 AQ, 220 space, maxed CC, 2 lvl 6 troops and probably 50-100 skulls more than now. Compare that to a day 1 TH9 and you will know who is stronger in farming and war. Take note that the maxed TH8 will draw in stronger opponents than the rushed TH9

You should have dragons at level 3 by now...pekka and golem are neccesary to be maxed imo, if you war off course. They you need to max rage and heal spells, wbs as well. Wizies and loons are required for wars as well...minions are another troops that are VERY usefull for both farming and war. You have so much research to do.

About your base...leaving 1 builder idle ans start maxing walls and max all defences, dont rush. When you will finish these staff, make sure that you will have storages full including DE. And max BK.

You are no near to th9, if you want to max off course.

Pekkas are not necesary if you lavaloon in war. Trust me, lavaloons gets 2-3 stars vs strong maxed th9 regardless... With gowi-- armys, not so much. Save the time and elixir. I didnt max th8 and I am way ahead of every person in my clan who stayed to max th8.

Getting loot at th9 is easier with 1 more spell, extra 20 camps, 5more CC, lvl6 troops and queen. Please, do not crippe yourself.

It is funny how each TH8 that ask's the question to upgrade to TH9 or not is becomming a debate from maxxers vs rushers.

To OP: You will get answers in both direction, so in all fairness: Do the thing that seems right for you.

Just my 2 cent: The time you put in is big, this will be a pro to rushing, however you're troops are not quite ready yet IMO.
I would stay on TH8 longer unless you don't got any more ways to spend your excess lix.

I agree... No way! Want to get wasted every time you log off? Go to Th9 with your current base. Want to post a lot complaining about not finding loot in bases your army can attack? Go to 9 with your current set up.

Max troops ( except valks and Golems). Max buildings and defense ( including teslas), and then go to Th 9 with full storages. I had complete skull walls and a max 8 when I jumped. Full storages were depleted in a day ( both X Bows etc).
